Anyone heard of this before? I'm going to do it. I've gone nowhere and done nothing with myself for the past 8 years and sticking it out here in shitfuck texas just seems unnatural to me. This is an opportunity to work for 20 hours a week doing simple labor, then enjoying all the pleasures of what I would consider paradise. It costs nothing but a plane ticket, and you are fed three times a day and are given a cabin. Some even have electricity. I plan to leave in June of next year and I don't intend to return. My scheme is to work 20 hours a week and find a job out there, eventually get myself an apartment, and have a much richer and enjoyable life on a tiny island in the pacific.
Here's a couple articles/testimonials I recommend reading:

So, robots, what would stop you in making a decision like this?

life in Hawaii is expensive

If you like hippies and new age philosophies then you'll enjoy yourself. If you're a misanthropic robot you'll hate everyone there.

I hate everyone anyway. But I'm not going there for the people or new age philosophies, I'm going because I truly believe living in a place like this would make me happy. And on the point of being misanthropic, I think... or I hope, something like this might slowly change that aspect of me.

I still believe is feasible to get a job as some shop or something and get a tiny cozy apartment and make it on my own.

don't go to Hawaii. don't even WWOOF in America. do it in a second world country like Russia

wtf why
originally
>>36798835
it's a lot easier to to be happy if you're poor in a poor country than poor in a rich country
>>36798987
I don't anticipate it being easy. For a guy like me, I need something challenging. I'm currently poor in a shitty town and life is about as easy as it can be here and I'm still unhappy.

It is not worth it.
If you are going to do this, at least do it in another country.
>eventually get myself an apartment
No, it is far too expensive for it
