>start lifting weights
>can barely bench 85 pounds
>cant do a single pull up
>cant do negative pull ups without instantly falling
is lifting weights even worth the time and effort?
yeh i had a similar problem im skinny as fuck and cant do a single push up or pull up or whatever i cant do any of it i tried but i gave up after a week. i might just start using dumbell weights when i can be bothered, start off with not too heavy and increase it when i feel im ready

Babysteps I guess
I dunno OP, maybe try doing Modified (AKA girl) push-ups/assisted pullup if you can't do regular ones. don't feel the need to start guns blazing.

Yes it's worth it
Don't give up or it'll take the time it took you to do this all over again

I used to be in exactly the same boat.
It's very hard to make progress at first because the muscles you're training are tiny as fuck in the first place. But eventually your gains will accelerate as you're using more muscle.

>can barely bench 85 pounds
you need to just become a trap
Call me crazy, but I'd love to start over at those stats. Every week and every month, I saw results and my body improve. It really made me feel good and confident in myself.
Once you get to good stats, it just becomes a chore. No more motivation
