Question for 20 year olds of /r9k/: do you associate your childhood more closely with stuff of 2000-2006 like PS2, Avatar, Gorillaz, Discman, Malcolm in the middle, Cyberchase, Tamagotchi, original Ben 10, and Kim Possible?
Or 2006-2009 stuff like Hannah Montana, PS3, The Dark knight, Justin Bieber, Twilight, Chowder, Marvelous misadventures of Flapjack, Adventure Time, and Silly bandz?
19 and I associate with the Malcolm in the Middle group. I lost most friends early on so the best memories are from a little father back.

I associate with both, but I definitely have clearer memories of '06-'09.
Flapjack was a fucking acid trip man.

I'm 29, so not really either. More like 1997-2001.
>>36713811
definitely 2000-2006
I guess I just didn't really feel like a kid anymore after 10
>>36713811
21 here. Definitely the first list. I felt like I was growing up by the time the shit I the second list started.

Nobody asked you for your opinion.
I wanted early 20s, not late 20s.
I'm 20. My childhood is definitely 2000-2006. My first console was the original Xbox, ton of great games came out in those years. Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Medal of Honor games, Halo, Splinter Cell, etc...
But now as I'm realizing how long ago 2006-2009 was, that's sort of meshing together with the previous years.
I remember when the first Nintendo DS came out, used to pictochat everyone on the bus during field trips. Them were gud days. Shame I turned out to be a wreck.
>>36713811
The former plus some older stuff because poverty
>>36713811
Im exactly 20, and my childhood pbviously lasted through both. I hav nostolgia for both, but I was really a 'kid' during 2000-2006. The release of the Wii was a big turning point.

I associate iphones and 7th gen systems with the teenager years and late childhood.

I was born in 1995. The 2000 to 2006 period was utterly amazing. Life was pure fun. Definitely associate my childhood to this period.
The 2006 to 2009 was also a good period. It had a distinctly different feel though. I was in middle school and hints at the kind of person i would become were already appearing.
Cyberchase was pure kino

>20yos were born in 1996-1997
>most seem to associate childhood with early 2000s stuff
>that stuff happened or was popular before they were 10
>based on my observations, childhood nowadays and last decade ends around the age 10
Makes sense.
Also
>many early-mid 2000s nostalgia threads on /r9k/
>typical people who use this board are in their early 20s
For comparison
>be 29
>associate childhood with circa 1994-2001 culture, with most weight on the 1996-2000 era (when I was 8-12)
Shortening childhood may not be a meme after all (it seems to be now 3-4 years shorter).
God 2000-2006 was really comfy
20, both
i first discovered the internet when i was 4 and it pretty much ruined my life desu
