You should've applied to one or two schools that were more ambitious. Most Uni's only use GCSEs to decide between candidates with similar grades at A-Level. A-level trumps most shit. It's not too late though if you're smarter than the people at your uni just do well at your degree try to get any kind of publication (don't let any opportunity to publish slip) and go for a masters somewhere more prestigious if that's what you need for your career.
