Get an electric tooth burhs it wont make your mouth bleed, it has sensitive mode where it slows down the electric tooth brush and you use with with the soft sensitive brush head. It will also shine a red light when you are brushing too hard, you don't put the whole bristle on your tooth just hover over it. If u want cleaner teeth then get it. It doesnt hurt your teeth.

Use mouth wash to heal your gums up. And try floss. Get a soft toothbrush.

Even if it sucks now, your teeth will get better. What would suck a lot worse is getting a bunch of cavities or abscesses or damaged roots. That hurts like all hell and nothing stops it. You sure don't want that.
