Why don't guns feel as cool as weapons like swords? It's hard to describe, but guns just feel like tools and not something you'd look at and say "this is my weapon". Like, most people wouldn't really feel like they'd want to paint a picture of a modern rifle. Have guns just not been around long enough to reach the same level of being romanticized?
Generally swords were more personal. You got up and close whereas guns are able to be a personal weapon yet are usually used for range.
Because using a sword confers that the user has some kind of tangible skill more readily than a gun
