can someone give the quick rundown on this presidency? the news says he's fucking up but they also said he had zero chance. so is he fucking up or what?
He managed to piss off both liberals and his core /pol/ fanbase by being a neocon
By the looks of it, he's gonna be the same president we've had for the last 16 years.
>>36535122
He has actually managed to get nothing done but appoint a conservative to the supreme court in his first 100 days and the republicans held the executive branch and both houses of the legislative branch. It's pretty pathetic and so far he has been one of the least effective presidents in history.
>>36535122
If he doesn't build the wall he fucked up
>didn't build the wall
>didn't repeal obamacare
>didn't prosecute Clinton
>100 days in and he's managed to do none of the things he promised to despite having control of the presidency, House, AND Senate
>lobbed 60 bombs at an airfield and missed anything of value
>dropped one of the biggest bombs in the US with a 1-mile+ radius explosion on a cave that had maybe 30 people in it
>said he had ships going to North Korea as a show of force but accidentally sent them to Australia instead
>sits around on twitter blaming Obama and Clinton while talking about how great it is that he won the election
Is there a term for something like a Lame Duck president but worse? How he's managed to do this is unbelievable. I feel like he's all but
guaranteed that nobody will vote Republican in the 2018 midterm elections or take Republicans seriously.
It feels like there's been so many good Republican candidates that got screwed over. McCain was a legitimately good presidential candidate who had the misfortune of being the "old white guy" running against Obama (getting Palin didn't help), and Mittens would have been great if he didn't insist on shooting himself in the foot by badmouthing his own health plan to try and appease the Anti-Obama crowd. Now the Republican Party is going to be remembered for electing the guy who took Alex Jones a little bit too seriously for god knows how long.

Republicans are shit. And I don't ever want to hear "party of reagan" or "party of lincoln" again. You're the party of trump. You can never take this back
>>36535562
I'll give you all of these except the wall. I assumed he was going to take his entire term to complete that. I won't say he's failed on that until the very end.
>>36535901
>Republicans are shit. And I don't ever want to hear "party of reagan" or "party of lincoln" again. You're the party of trump. You can never take this back
reagan was equally as shit, possibly worse than trump
the republican party has been shit ever since reagan was president
The media is run by people who hate him because he goes against their agenda, and they have no qualms about using their power to sway the public to reach their own goals. I'd say Trump as a president is doing pretty decent.
>has already spent more budget on his golf vacations than Obama did in 8 years
That's his main accomplishment.
>>36536173
If he's doing decent, what has he accomplished so far?
>>36535122
>4 months in
>no robogirlfriends for robots
>still unmurdered biowomen
I'm a tad disappointed but otherwise he's alright
Everyone's just mad he lasted 100 days in office.
He's barely done anything yet. The most notable concrete action he's taken was bombing a Syrian airbase. He's got 4 more years, so hopefully he gets his ass in gear and delivers on his promises.
>>36535562
>It feels like there's been so many good Republican candidates that got screwed over.
uhh no. they were all shit. trump was a wild card which unfortunately went the wrong way.

>U.S. President Donald Trump indicated an openness on Monday to delaying his push to secure funds for his promised border wall with Mexico
>>36535122
He's doin fine, the polls that say his support is low are the same polls that said Hillary would win
He's not as bad as Warren G. Harding or Buchanan. It's entertaining watching liberals get triggered by him and the /pol/ type crowd get triggered by people calling him on his bullshit. Low effectiveness but high entertainment for sure.
>>36536357
It's entertaining like watching a trainwreck. Unfortunately it's funny only until you remember that his (in)actions are going to fuck up the US economy further than ever.
>>36536066
Funny how republicans worship Reagan, when in fact he's the one who set the US on a course of self-destruction. Reagan started the overspending process and made it irreversible. The US economy is fucked up and will only get worse, all due to what Reagan started.
>>36536303
Yeah, he's delaying them. That doesn't mean that he's cancelling the wall altogether. Even if he started on it later this year that would still be three years he could be working on it.
I hate Trump too but the wall isn't out of the question until 2020 as far as I'm concerned.
>>36536594
The Trump wall is pretty much like an emperor gutting the entire treasury and years of the country's income to build a massive palace as a status symbol. The wall won't do shit. Might as well use that money to build a new Trump Palace.
>>36536625
If he manages to do it then at least he'll manage to fulfill one of his promises.
>>36536594
I'm sure his party plans for it to be canceled forever, they only liked it as something for their idiot base to rally around. Even a Republican can tell it's not a good thing to actually do, it's just a campaign promise that you bait and switch on. Like Clinton pretending she'd raise the minimum wage.
>>36536625
A palace would actually be better because you could take it back at the end of his term and use it for something. The Wall that he's so famous for would be useful for literally nothing since the southern border of the US is already fenced and patrolled constantly by drones, vehicles and aircraft. And fucking citizen militias too in some areas. And it's better protected by those things that it would be by an unguarded wall.
I think the Wall is pretty emblematic of Trump and his base as a whole. For Trump and the Republican party it seems like it was just a cynical tactic to use on their desperate voters, who are ready for protectionism but not for socialism for some reason. And for those desperate voters it's an ill-considered non-solution to a largely imaginary problem, but because it's easier to understand than the realities of immigration and fun to shout about at rallies they're all really, really into it. We'll just build a wall, like on Game of Thrones. That makes sense.
>>36536783
>like Clinton pretending she'd raise the minimum wage
California already as a plan for the minimum wage to be $15 in 2023. A conservative like Hillary Clinton could have easily instituted the same thing.
>>36535122
I didn't think that he was going to do shit, and I was right.
>>36536844
Just because she could've doesn't mean she would've. It was very clear that she only started talking about it at all because she had a brief moment of clarity and realized Bernie was getting to be a real threat, before that it was "never ever" like she was a consolefag trying to troll /v/. Very hard to believe when she wouldn't even pretend to be against the TPP.
Not that it matters, bitch lost. Hopefully forever, but probably not. I have no faith in the future, because on one side there's the collective dull fist of right-wing reactionaries who are literally begging to have coal mine jobs back, and on the other side there's a divided left wing because a disturbingly numerous group of liberals haven't noticed that corporate Democrats are just Republicans with blue ties and passable social mores. Worse yet, they're going to fight every inch against millennials taking over the party. They'll try to run Clinton or some other crusty moderate fuck come 2020, you just watch, and there'll be division enough to ensure the Cheeto gets to die in the Oval Office, oligarchy unbusted, maybe forever with a further four years to cement their grip on government.
I should just move to California so I'm ready to fight in the Bear Army during the War of Secession. Go out with a bang, maybe survive with an amputated leg and a California flag hidden under my bed in the POW camp. I should learn the state anthem or something.
>>36536986
Puh-lease, if it ever comes to that, I'll shoot you dead before you even get the chance to become a POW. Fuck the Democraps, the Republicunts, and the Cheeto.

He does some good things and some bad things. I like him more than I would have liked Hillary.
>>36537139
Half of those failed to pass, the other half are all talk or inconsequential or actually not good things.
He's doing mostly the same shit that Obama did, or that Clinton would have done. He's just doing it in a way that makes it obvious how stupid and awful his policies are. My hope is that the Trump presidency will make people lose all confidence in the current system of government and demand something better.
