How much do you weigh? When I was a teenager, I tried to hang myself with a shitty cord, but the fucker snapped when I kicked the chair over.

I was like 120 lbs at the time, so it was probably the shitty extension cord. Either way I recommend a rope.

Tie it to the sturdy place and hang yourself from it and see if it holds. It's really not that hard.

The extension cord probably won't be strong or thick enough. Just buy a rope and tie a good noose so you break your neck and go without suffering.

I've always found the sitting to hang yourself somehow sadder than hanging from the ceiling or something. Just sitting there waiting for the release of death.

It's not strangling. It's closer to a sleeper hold. You can breath well enough but the bloodflow to the brain slows so much that you quickly pass out. Then so long as the pressure isn't let up, the brain eventually starves and dies.

Drop execution requires more space and height, you need a fall of about 5 feet to kill an average-sized man as well as a sturdy ceiling, rope, and knot. It's surprisingly difficult to get right, which is why the countries that still practice hanging executions have manuals and specialists handling things.
