I'm trans myself, and I do not believe that every person who identifies as something other than their biological gender is necessarily born that way. I think that identity as a whole is extremely fluid and is affected by everything in life, so you can be "swayed" towards transgenderism by experiencing trauma and such. A male can have a brain that somewhat resembles a female brain, and depending on his course in life might want to transition. So if you ask me, we should redefine our look on gender- AND general identity.

This is of course complete pseudoscience, but that's my take on it.
