I've got really Normie taste in music, please don't be mean to me.
My favorite album is probably "This is it" or "OK Computer"
Maybe Pinkerton by Weezer
Opening instrumental track is great.
okay then.
orginal
Lineage Situation by Neil Perry
Agreeing with OP. NIN is the absolute shit.
I'd say kmfdm too but that was fucking ruined by tumblr fangirls wanting to suck Eric Harris' dick.

I loved OK Computer.
This is probably my most listened to album.
However I still think the best album I've heard in terms of production values and feeling like one complete whole is Dark Side of The Moon; it just feels like one great, really long track, you know?

Figured I'd try that album yesterday after years of knowing about it, and holy heck was it good. The lyrics were very on the nose but I don't really get what's so extraordinarily edgy about it, its not as bad as say Muse or Twenty One Pilots.

>favorite album
It's only an album if every song is related to every other in some way. Most "albums" are just collections of songs. This definition pretty much restricts me to progressive rock, but I have no problem with that. Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds ranks pretty high. Another good one is Dream Theater's Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory. Maybe Steve Hackett's Voyage of the Acolyte (listening to it right now).
>>36470934

Check out "Be" by pain of salvation. There's a good, staged live version on Youtube. The lead singer has a vocal range better than Dream Theater's. https://patronsaint.bandcamp.com/album/sorry
I have a hard time picking a favourite album because its hard for me to say a hip hop album is better than a jazz album, or a metal album is better than a folk album when the genres are so wildly different.
If I had to pick one it would be this. It just resonates with me. Its mostly acoustic driven with the occasional piano or banjo or harmonica or something here and there.
The reason I think I like it is because of how bittersweet the songs can be. You can listen to them in a great mood or a terrible one. Its a very melancholic album but with some very upbeat melodies, making for a weird dynamic.
I also like that most of the songs aren't about 'Muh girl left me' or 'A loved one died' but some esoteric concepts like not wanting to be remembered when you die or being kept up all night by overthinking everything.
Also the singer has the most hauntingly beautiful voice I've ever heard.
It's probably considered pretty pleb but if anyone wants to check it out its called 'Bring Me Your Love' by City and Colour, here's a taste.

>If the band is so good then why doesn't it play on the radio?

Because the corporations decided it wasn't fit for the top 40
