I'm going out tonight to a bar as an attempt to socialize.

I tried that many times, never worked for me. I always end up alone siping my beer at a table. In the end I gave up.

I'm doing this as well cuz my friends are either assholes or suicidal robots who never leave their home.
. Here are a few tips.
1.Pick 1 bar and stick with it. Try to befriend waiters, staff and/or regular guests. buy them drinks if you have to.
2. try to use couch surfing hanhouts app if you live in a place visited by tourirsts.
3.Tip 3 (advanced) Give sturdy eye contacts to girls, and if 1 keeps looking at you approach her and start talking.

Don't bother. You're not going to socialise, at best you'll get some small talk in the line to the bar. If you go to a particularly scummy place you'll get some interaction out of drunken scumbags, but I assure you that you will not enjoy this. Going to a bar solo is cool, I do it myself fairly often since drinking in the house can get samey, just don't expect to suddenly gain friends.

Go to a girl and lie to her, act like you're hot shit around people, if you're called out brush it off as if their words aren't even worth reacting to. Act like you own the place for no reason whatsoever, but be careful not to overdo it, don't impose or force youself, just be active.

I work security at nightclubs and bars, wait until like 1-2am when everyone is wasted drunk and just go out onto the dance floor and flail your arms around like an idiot and people will talk to you.

The start of the night everyone is pretty sober and they just stick with the little normie groups they came with but by the end of the night everyones too drunk and fucked up to even notice what the fuck they're doing. I've had heaps of drunken idiots come up to me and ask me if I know X person even though I have no idea who the fuck they are or why they're talking to me because I'm working and have shit to do.
