Pretty much this. 4chan is pretty fucking mainstream and everyone knows about. 4chan has plenty of normies now. But most of them stick to /soc/, /cgl/, /co/, ect. I can't really tell you why /r9k/ gets it's fair share of normies/roasties, but it does. It's evident in the "fembot" threads and other garbage threads on this board. Maybe /soc/ and posters of other boards come here so they can roleplay as lonely le depressed people when they're actually just normies. Roasties come here because this board is filled with retarded cuck-betas that will feed them attention and orbit them.

Plus it's fun to troll here since the posting population is retarded. I myself have posted racebait, made political discussions, and posed as a women for the sake of entertainment. It's pretty easy to get a big thread going if you fluster people.

But yeah. 4chan has become pretty goddamn normal and now all the other obscure boards are normalizing. I might just migrate to 8ch.

I haven't visited it since 2013 or so. I know a lot of boards are fucking dead. But I think there are still some fairly active boards. I mainly want a /r9k/ that is obscure and devoid of normies. I'd still use 4ch for /fit/, /k/, /out/, ect.
