Well I haven't gotten a diagnosis, but since I've had this really high kHz static noise for as long as I can remember (+ a slightly lower kHz noise in my right ear which I know I got from an accident) I can assume it's permanent. I can't really sleep because of it either so I might as well go to the doctor then.
