Why would ANYONE join the military? I don't understand how they get recruits. You are surrendering your liberty. They can literally order you to charge into gunfire and arrest you if you don't do it. What kind of moron would make that decision? I work as a fucking pizza driver and I still feel objectively superior to the kind of retard that fucked their life choices up enough to end up in the military.
>>
It's for people who lack direction in life. I've considered it a lot since it would allow me to fight for something, something I don't have currently.

>thinking you're superior to milfags as a pizza driver
Lmao you are literally scum
>>
Military is the ultimate robot job because when you finally find the long sought death you won't be remembered as a coward but as an hero

It's a risk/reward thing. You can gain valuable skills and get your education paid for, get fit, develop stress management, I can see why it would be a good fit for some people.

Lol trench warfare isn't a thing anymore, you gotta go on patrols sometimes but that's it. And honestly, if you want to be a fobbit, you can pretty easily manage that too.

I've got a house since I got a cheap VA loan, the rest of med school paid for with the GI bill, a great insurance/banking company through USAA, and a million other little benefits and respect as a veteran for the rest of my life.

All it took was 3 years and some change of easy as fuck work. I'm gonna be a successful doctor while you're still delivering pizzas, so tell me again how good your "career" choice is.
>>

i thought drug dealers, pedophiles, murders ect. were scum?
Even if it doesn't play honest work is better than being a gibsmedat

from what i understand you dont get to serve aymore, you stay on a military base for atleast 5 years and then leave, get kicked out, or stay for 20 years and retire

Not him but I think pizza drivers do more good overall. There hasn't been a war we needed to join in over 100 years.

What MoS Is 3 years? Everything i looked at when I considered joining was 4 or 5.
>>
>>36352680

Depends on what branch you join. If you do infantry you spend a decent amount of time on exercise.

Korean War was 1950s I think.

We wouldn't have pro SC2 players or mediocre cars and electronics if we didn't stop big dick kim.
>>
>>36352664
The military is ridiculously easy to get out of, I found that out myself a few weeks in.
Also, I hope you know that you're not actually legally obligated to go to boot camp until you've stepped on the bus. You can back out any time before then. Your recruiter might get mad but you'll be fine.
>>
Is being a delivery person hard? it seems like it would be stressful
>>
>>36352763
Ive got options so imma wait on the military-meme

i would be very careful about joining cause, the way i see it, regardless of whether or not you love it, hate it , or are indifferent, your still stuck there for 5 years
And if i end up hating it jesus i will hate those 5 years.

I was surprised when I got to MEPS. From the movies you expect military guys to be these chiseled, strong Chads but in actuality most of them were beta dweebs.

I guess it makes sense though. Chads can get good jobs easier and have no need to join the military. Beta dorks join the military as a last resort.

It's also an incredible adventure, living a more exciting life than most people can even imagine.

Most veterans hate war, but if you ask them what the most exciting part of their life was, it's almost always in war.

You get to visit places you never would have seen, meet incredible people.

paid for by the USMC

>This is my only option left. I hate this shit but what am I gonna do
You could be a NEET.
>>
As someone in the military, I see myself as a mercenary. They offer to pay me in exchange for my service.

As simple as that, in my opinion. I wouldn't have done it for free.
>>
>>36352507
Dude I'm poor, and I don't want to give professor shekelberg muh wagecuck monies. Fuck that. I've heard the horror stories about college debt, I've heard the rip offs (forcing you to buy things like a book the professor wrote but never use it), I've heard about how poor and shitty life is in college bc your wagebux go to ((((them))). Fuck that. Besides, I'm a fucking loser anyways- I could use the discipline, and I shook get the life experience.
>>
>>36352936
I've been a NEET for the last year or so. My parents aren't putting up with it any longer. I either join the military or I become homeless.

I've tried being homeless before and it was awful to be quite honest.
>>
>>36352894
You sound like you need it anyways. If you're as big a pussy as you type, join the airforce. If you want to actually improve your life, join the navy. Plus, as a sailor, pussy comes easy.

Military is literally the lowest-tier job on the planet. As a pizza driver, I go home to my comfy apartment and pornos every day, can smoke weed and drink as much as I want as long as I'm sober enough for work the next day, I can leave my job and find another one any time I want, and there is no obligation to get shot at or shoot others. I can choose my own company (or even be alone!) instead of being stuck hanging out with and taking orders from the dregs of humanity, too.

Being a pizza driver and studying programming or business books in your spare time is objectively superior to being a member of the military.

>>

>>36352894
What branch? I went into the coast guard and it's mostly mind games. The physical side still takes effort, they'll exhaust you and keep pushing you. If you really fuck up they send you back X amount of weeks or give you RAMP which is extra instructional training at night.
I'm not gonna try to dissuade anyone, you should go through with it. You get job security, food and a place to sleep, dosh, and a bunch of other benefits.
>>36352831
I couldn't deal with the stress in boot and they just slapped a generic "adjustment disorder" on me and sent me home. They send A LOT of people home for a lot of reasons. If you find it's really not for you, you can get out. Not like they're hurting for numbers.
>>
>>36352507
>I work as a fucking pizza driver and I still feel objectively superior
LMFAO

Holy shit. I am a libtard and even I find this fucking funny as hell. Some people want to serve their country. You want to serve your local pizzeria.
>>
i cant take people screaming at me seriously. i would honestly just start to chuckle as soon as they started screaming in my face and calling me by my last name.

>>

The pizzeria asks for some of your time and gives you back money, and the military asks for ALL your time while you're enlisted, plus your ability to make your own choices and potentially your life and limbs.

Its the worst life choice imaginable. I honestly think being a prostitute is a more dignified, respectable career than being a soldier. At least they get paid every time they get fucked.
>>
>>36353253
nothing wrong with the chair force, anon. at least you're doing something.
>>
>>36352507
I wanted to join up and was looking into it. My older brother who was in it already Told me point blank that under no circumstances would he ever let me join. He was right. I came out and transitioned about a year later. And now everything is turning around in my life.
>>
>>36352850
Most chad's first choice is USMC.

When I joined the marines, it was nothing but meatheads, jocks, and people that needed waivers for tattoos and criminal charges.
>>
>>36353196
Pretty much. You can just ask to go to medical, then tell them you want to talk to the mental health doctor and tell them you're overly anxious, etc. etc. they'll ask if you're suicidal, then you might speak to the psychologist who'll recommend you for discharge.
>>36353253
Not laughing, I considered that for a while because they had IT kind of jobs. I honestly think I would have made it through that fine if I didn't go uscg

>>

>>

>>
>>36353402

>>
>>36352507
You get to travel the world though. What they don't tell you is you leave some of your parts in other countries.
>>
>>36352715

It's really not bad, at least any branch but the Marines. The time passes super quickly. I barely even remember it as a blip in my memory anymore.

There's some dumb shit to deal with for sure, but it's not like they physically beat you or anything. Start doing push-ups now though.

>>36352737

Just the way my contract worked out it was about 3 1/2 years. 94A army.

My AIT was 10 or 11 months long though since my friend and I got shipped to the wrong place for it, got to Fort Lee late, missed our class, and had to wait like 3 or 4 months for the next one.
>>
>>36353582
>Start doing push-ups now though.
Yeah I'm trying but I leave in a few weeks and I can barely do ten pushups. How fucked am I anon?

I'm also exhausted after running one mile. I understand in boot camp you're supposed to run one and a half miles.

And I'm really bad at situps.

I'm not fat but I'm lanky and weak.
>>
>>36352507
If I was younger I would get into the military just to see all the secret shit they do. I promise not to tell. I just want to witness some of the stuff I hear and read about. Some military fags get to man bases like Stargate or Area 51. Just pass an intelligence test and prove yourself trustworthy and able to tell a good gover story. It would be better to get accepted into a military academy and make some real money. O grade pay and retirement plans look like the good life.

He pussy footed around it but he didn't think I had the right "mindset" for the military. When we talked it through later he told me that I was to gentle for the military and he wouldn't have been happy seeing that removed during basic. He was right though. Im glad I didn't join. I was only trying to use to run away from my own personal issues anyways.

Do you have to go to college to get a good job in the air force? I dropped out of college because I hated it. I don't want to go back.

Can you just stay as enlisted and have a pretty good life?
>>
>>36353425
I would try the air force or navy if I wasn't so old and knew what I know now about my employment future. Army seems boring and landlocked while marines seem like all chads. Ships seem like a cool place for robots that aren't clausterphobic. Jets need crazy reflexes, so I'm probably disqualified.

do as many reps as you can a few sets a day and each day try to add 1 or 2 reps.

pace yourself, look up some running techniques. take short walking brakes or slow jogs but don't stop. you can kinda cheat by sprinting your heart out during the last stretch, but conserve energy before that
>>
>>36353636

You might be a bit fucked. I went in pretty underweight and weak, I had trouble doing the last PT test to be honest. You really just need to do as many as you can during. And eat as much as you can. Steal muffins from the dfac and save them for later in your locker.

Don't cheat yourself and stop pushing when they're not looking, or be lazy during PT, or you'll have to stay longer at the fatty camp.
>>
>>36353813

Yes, as an E-4 (non NCO/sergeant) you can live pretty comfortably.

They really push you to promote or get the fuck out though. Either go in for one contract, or be ready to have to take a leadership position.

My recruiter keeps telling me to gain weight because I was only slightly above the minimum weight. I'm a lanklet and very weak.
>>
>>36354137

Nah. Everyone would do it. Eat them that night and throw the wrapper away, you need the calories.

Plenty of places to hide shit in your locker, even if they randomly do a full inspection. Just have to not be fucking stupid.

Yes, if you can't pass the final PT test you have to stay at that post till you can. It's usually a pretty sad area to be stuck at.

If you're army, you can also miss out on the big feast at the end, getting to do the last big ruck march and celebrating after. Which can feel pretty shitty.
