Maybe we are not meant to be loved?
This thought strikes me now and then, maybe it is true? That we are not meant to be loved or to love anyone for whatever weird reason there can be, be it religious or genes. To give up would be merciful, but giving up entirely is impossible, there will always be a sliver of hope, you can cover it up with a blanket but it'll still be there.
Just a drunken thought i had. What do y'all think?

I think romantic love is overrated and we're all falling for a centuries old idea that was meant to inspire art and literature mostly. Somehow we've internalized it and by hopelessly trying to apply it to the real world we end up suffering. The best thing to do IMO is to separate romantic love and sexual pleasure and dedicate our emotional and mental energy to other things in life. Things were easier when relationships were based on practical terms.
