Why is my big sister really mean and tsundere to me around our friends, but really nice in private? When we're at home, if I say "I love you" to her, she says she really loves me back and if I ask for hugs she hugs me, sometimes we even just lay on the couch hugging and talking. When we're with our friends, she's really cold to me. She doesn't hug or kiss me back or say "I love you", she tries to ignore me or shoo me away.

Ok, so I was 12 or 13 during this.

So growing up, besides game systems, a huge social status thing was owning a bike. EVERYONE owned one. Some had chromed out BMX bikes. Some had beach cruisers. Others, like me, had rusted out shit frames with bald tires and brakes that didn't work.

Now, if you had a bike, and didn't want to just be a pleb, you needed to be able to operate the fucker. Going fast, doing tricks, taking huge jumps, etc. But being the little bitch I was, I was always a slow riding pussy pleb.

But not this day.

Papas cousin came to town. I'd never seen her before, and was smitten instantly. Forget the fact she was 15. Forget the fact she had a boyfriend (who knocked her up the subsequent year). Forget the fact that I'm...Well, me. I followed her like a puppy, doing everything I could to impress her.

So the crack head kids were always up to shit. They seriously lived in this rundown crack house with people coming in and out at all hours and in all states of sobriety. On this day, Papas and crew were curb jumping, and showing off leet skillz. The crack heads decided this was unacceptable.

The set up, in the middle of the street, and jump. Not just any jump. It was a brick and plywood jump, angled so that the lip to launch pointed almost vertical. They tossed down a 20, and said they'd give it to anyone who'd jump it.

Obviously there were to takers.

Then came the jeers in both English and Spanish, calling us pussies, bitches, the whole Gambit. Bike riding looked to be over.

But I saw an opportunity. Fuck this, I can do this! I can win 20 bucks, and get bitches!

So I accepted, and got into position. I probably should have thought twice, considering every single friend I had huddled around me and told me not to do it, it was too dangerous.

Fuck that!

I was off, peddling as fast as my legs could pump. I lined up, ready to show my skills. I hit the ramp. I took flight.

About that moment, I realized it WAS a bad idea.

As I flipped backwards and my bike and I separated, I thought, well...If I die, maybe she'll at least hold me in her arms.

Then I hit. On my ass. And I slid. On my ass. For a good 10 feet.

Cheers erupted. My friends ran over to check up on me. In the confusion, the crack heads took the money and ran. I was lifted up. Papas cousin clapped me on the shoulder and said I had "Huge Huevos".

I saw my bike. Split in half and held together by just the chain. Then I felt a breeze on my ass. I'd road rashed all the jeans and tightly whitey material off my ass during the slide, and was left with two throughly red ass cheeks.

In the end, Papas cousin left without saying goodbye, I never did get that 20, I got my already raw ass beaten for ruining my jeans, and I didn't get another bike till a few years later.
