On this shedule he wrote 19 books, including technical volumes on climbing plants, barnacles, and other subjects; the more controversial Descent of Man; and The Origin of Species, probably the single most famous book in the history of science, and a book that still affects the way we think about nature and ourselves.

Except he actually worked, and much of the rest of the time was spent on activities that are conducive to so-called mind wandering which allows the subconscious mind to work in its own way. You do no actual work, and the time wasters you engage in-- video games, anime, and so forth-- all pump constant distractions into your brain that shorten your attention span and have the exact opposite effect of his activities.
