>ywn die in combat defending the pope
>ywn go on a crusade to retake Constantinope
>ywn take Jerusalem on behalf of Christianity
Feels bad man

Technically there's nothing stopping you, go out, steal a horse and helmet, wrap yourself in some sheets and draw some red crosses, stride over there and conquer to your hearts desires.

>>36231877
You do know most of those guys died of disease and shit on the way there and back than in actual combat, yes?
Must've sucked to be a crusader back then.
>implying I would die for this shitty Pope
Pope francis is like the Obama/Trudeau of popes
I wish I had something I believed in so strongly that I would go on a Crusade to defend it.
I wish I had that sort of passion in my life.
>>36232513
Not Pope Francis, I'm thinking like Pope Clement and such.
first crusade was semi-successful by a miracle because all the dukes were too retarded to set up a proper siege and just got lucky - they even devastated the ships of their allies and ate all their food in order to proceed. every single other crusade was just an utter failure. so yeah, it suits you, op. but then again, what was I thinking, you, knowing anything about history, lmao
>>36232501
Doesn't matter anon, at least they had a strong purpose in life, while being able to accept the circumstance of death considering their cause and duty, based on strong beliefs.
Much more worthy than a comfortable uneventful life.
>>36232479
Good, I almost mistook you for a subhuman for a second.
>>36232501
I would gladly live through that hardship if it meant I actually had purpose in my life, it would mean that I believed in something so strongly that I would go halfway across the world and risk my life.
>>36232565
Did you ever consider that, just like any other armed conflict, that many of them were probably young men who didn't really want to be there?
Enough of them had a purpose to make the Crusades happen but in the end many of these were barely old enough to be called men and dropped dead on the side of the road from sickness and starvation to be left behind.
I don't see why anyone would want to have been part of it. There's enough good to do in this life.
>>36232542
>first Crusade "semi" sucessful
>3rd Crusade
>utter failure
>claims to know about history
lmao anon, just admit that you root to the other team, no shame in that, just don't try to pose as a clever guy.
Next you are going to claim that the Ottoman campaign of 1529 was a complete success

You can be willing to die for something you believe in and not have it be something like Islam, anon.
>>36232709
Absolutely not, anon! You take that back!
>tfw no /Christian/ thread

Difference is that the crusaders believe in christian/western values and civilization, the other is a bunch of sandniggers.
