INTP here. Any others have trouble with morals and feelings? Such as feeling as though certain things are right or wrong?
>>
>>36225483
I'm an INFP and while things can get to me I'm pathetically quick to forgive and it feels like a personal error on my part to see something someone does as right/wrong just because it helps/hurts me.
>>
>>36225483
Why do INTPs care about morals? Is this some kind of philosophizing of Fe?

mabye,What makes subjetive terms whole truths?
>>
>>36225613
I might be wrong but I'm sure they meant they don't get the feeling that things are right are wrong, i.e. does not care about morals.
>>
>>36225483
Yeah. I follow my "values" very strictly though. Because for all the rationalization I've done they seem logical and "correct" enough to follow, even if I don't necessarily believe in them.

>>36225613
Philosophizing, sure, but not of Fe at all. An inquisitive INTP will question their existence from the ground up -- from the most elementary and discrete elements they can learn about, to the huge, strange, charming universe and all its permutations.

ISTP here.

I actually feel quite strongly about morals, as in my mind, my morals are thinking principles that... just make sense, and not only do they make sense, but most of them are going to make people's lives better, so they are doubly good and sensible.

of course, they are probably overly simplistic and naive, but fuck it. most of my morals are formulated along the line of, "I am a thinking, feeling human bean. the evidence suggests that other people are thinking and feeling human beings such as myself, why would I treat someone like myself badly if I would not treat myself badly? if I would like to have act of kindness A or B provided to me, than I to should be willing to and attempt to provide these acts of kindness. reciprocation is not necessarily the important part, as it would be unrealistic to expect everyone to act in this way, but it's easy to be good and kind and thus should be done, hopefully some other people will return the favor."

I really really like the quote from Sam Harris that goes like, "everyone you ever meet will lose everything they love and care for in their life, knowing this, why would you want to be anything but kind to them?"

honestly, i think i have a checklist too, or rather more like a guideline. things like, not tech-illiterate, artsy/well-read, and how deeply they know about their interests. i recognize that even shallow things like a girl having an iphone versus android brings instant judgments to mind. i'd like a woman to know and value me (inb4 'roasties r dum') but in the end she'll also have to be certain degree of qt, no? i've no interest in a human fleshlight.

if i said these things and said i was a girl (i'm actually a guy) then i would get a number of 'gtfo roastie' as well as desperate beta posts, and then a token few legitimate responses. and of course, the latter two categories sometimes intermingle around here. and that appears to be exactly what's happened here.

but at the same time, i know that there's robots in much worse situations than i am, and they would say that the whole possibility that i have guidelines is a sign that i am a normie, or that i have not experienced as abject loneliness as they have. them being people whose guidelines are "should have a pulse" and "vaguely feminine". and to an extent they'd be right, and i wouldn't ever claim to be more robot than them. that'd be both inaccurate and cruel/invalidating to their experiences.

in the end, my checklist is theoretical, it never survives contact with real life. lots of arcanines have these checklists, what do you think those qt charts are all about?

>iNtuitives pay more attention to information that is imaginative and original. iNtuitives focus on the future.
>They live in a rich internal world in their mind, which is full of imagination and excitement. As a consequence, they may sometimes find the external world less interesting. This may lead some people to see them as being rather understated and reserved.
>An INTPs distinguishing characteristics are imagination, originality, perceptiveness, creativity and a delight in tackling the complex. They are interested in theorizing, analyzing and learning. They thrive on exploring, understanding and explaining how the world works.

Desu I never thought something could describe me so accurately and put into words my mindset and way of thinking.

Especially this part- "they may sometimes find the external world less interesting" rings so true. I'm not 100% convinced as to the validity of the MBTI but these descriptions and analyses are so spot on I'm thankful to have come across them because they help me understand myself better in a way.

myers-briggs is like a more casual personality map. if you actually want to find out more about yourself beyond this simple grouping method, go to a psychologist for one session and ask to be mapped using the 15 term set system. You are given 15 descriptors and are asked to pick the three that best describe you. those are eliminated from the list. you repeat the process until only 3 terms are left. then you have a value system for traits. ex:

++(most, your top 3):smart, loyal, affectionate
+: good, mature, interesting
0: goofy, lenient, open
-: powerful, energetic, liberal
--(least, last terms you picked): punctual, good-looking, successful

you repeat this process with up to 20 sets(commonly just 10 sets, 150 terms total), and then your psychologist maps each chart and evaluates based on what you hold highest compared to lowest in order to determine your basic personality. then you are compared to what the averaged person hold highest(pic related) and can assess from there

INFJs are the masterrace. We always have dumb Chads around us that protect us, do our dirty work and keep the goyim in submission. Contrary to popular belief Chads love when someone is eloquent because it makes them think that we know what we're talking about. INFJs literally invented the priestly class of old and all the retarded religious rituals and lore that they knew is retarded but useful to keep the dumb masses in check. Then the Enlightenment faggots came and started their "human rights" bullshit. It was a good run, lads. Hitler was the last INFJ that made an impact on the world.

I don't get it. I act nothing like an INFP. My day to day interactions would make people think I'm a cold, uncaring piece of shit. I go about my day with no assertiveness because I don't care to intervene in people's affairs and their lives. I don't judge because I'm too busy judging myself. I think just as much as I feel.

That's why his good friend and sage INFJ is there to "help" him with that one, to tell him all about the "holy cause" and shit, so he (and a couple thousand of his comrades) can die knowing that their "sacrifice mattered". INFJs won't profit from their sacrifice in any way, not at all. At least the INFJ will order that a monument is to be made to honor their sacrifice, someday, maybe.

>>36233414
Well, would you ever consider doing anything about your situation? Or is it too much of an effort? All you have to lose from the bottom is time and energy, which is decaying doing nothing nonetheless. Unless you're religious and believe your life justified you a decent afterlife/reincarnation, you've got nothing after life to look forward to, and have nothing to lose except your own wasted time. Realistically, even if you're a extreme mental and physical defect, doing nothing accomplishes nothing, and doing something only *may* accomplish nothing. Also, remember t bear in mind you're in a sadboi echochamber.

If life is too much suffering to deal with, and you don't want to change things, why haven't you killed yourself yet?
>>
>>36233538
I have considered my situation, I do every second of every day. I can reason things in my head as beneficial but I cannot act on them as nothing weighs up against the inevitable. The worst circumstances might as well be the best, because they're both equally indistinguishable . I'm not religious, although I come from a family-oriented cult and I was home-schooled by schizophrenics. Reincarnation is a nice wish, but I don't see it, if anything it's just another excuse to give up on reality. I don't visit r9k very often I prefer lurking other chans. I treat echochambers with a certain distance, and I treat their rhetoric with even more distance.

Also, I'm unable to kill myself because I feel like I have unfinished business.

Not sure if this was a sufficient response, but whatever, I'm wasted.

Can you type a person's taste in movies, books based on their mbti? I have a friend, INFP, and the movies he recommends, are mostly kind of escapist ones, based on some fantasy-like theme. Keep in mind it's basically a thing he wrote to himself and not for other people, so it doesn't read like an instruction book. Bon Clay and Bobby Fulbright from the top of my head

I love these two and always try to be more like them everyday since they value the same things I do. I tend to absorb many things from different fictional characters if I feel like they are important and I want a piece of that in my life.

Going out of your way to do things the way they feel right will get you many weird looks though, but that doesn't matter.

Yeah, I get this. I answered on the celebrity type one that my feelings control me more than I control them and still got like 90% T.

I think that feelings are the foundation of thought though, If you don't have feelings how can you have imagination? INTP is a pretty conflicting role anyway.

You get caught up in a whirlwind of seeking Se stimulation while using Te to figure out the best way to get it. >Second-Guess Themselves- Logicians remain so open to new information that they often never commit to a decision at all. This applies to their own skills as well. Logician personalities know that as they practice, they improve, and any work they do is second-best to what they could do. Unable to settle for this, Logicians sometimes delay their output indefinitely with constant revisions, sometimes even quitting before they ever begin.

Fug, is this where my insane levels of procrastination come from.

Also does anyone else wonder how something like anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and OCD, etc can affect MBTI types?

For example OCD and anxiety has made it kinda difficult for me to explore ideas in my mind without emotional response that is illogical but strong and can serve as a barrier in trying to fully explore, analyze and think about some concepts like existential stuff or whatnot. Anxiety towards things that there should be no anxiety about.

It would be interesting to see if someone wrote somewhere about how different mental disorders affect different MBTI types in different ways and interfere with their potential and functioning in ways they dont even realize in regards to MBTI, and how to overcome them.

I fucking love doing that, I cant stop myself, its like reality is boring and its more fun to think about crazy alternative reality that functions differently from our own, like

>what if planets were square, cylindrical, etc instead of just round
>what if there was no Rosche limit and planets orbiting extremely close to each other was common and there were 2 different human species that developed simultaneously and seperately on both and engaged in warfare with the other planet lobbing rounds to escape velocity and at the other like Hitler firing V2s at London only across interplanetary space
>what if could rain things other than rain, snow and hail on Earth and how would that effect us and our modern civilization -
>also like to imagine sometimes somehow if multiverse is real, finding myself in the multiverse space that contains all the universes including our own, either in membrane shape/form or bubble form, sourrounding me like galaxies but they are entire universes - the imagery of that is just so sublime and cool
>and also imagine some huge space battle taking place in the multiverse space between 2 opossing super universe powers who control multiple universes fighting for control of more
>but each universe has its own unique laws of physics and some may be empty and dead, others may be beyond normal human comprehension or be structured in sjch a way that the only things they contain are water worlds around blue stars

Ah-ha. Just a little tweak - they may appear as supportive and caring, but in fact they're just assholes with their tight morale and traditionalism. Why? xSxJ - those are usually just NPC-s, without a hint of their own opinion. They draw society back.
Also...

I dont think you can just claim that there can be an "ideal human", its too limited a concept especially considering how varied humans are in general and how few true polymaths there are today.

There may have been more in the early Renaissance times and Antiquity but that was because knowledge was not so highly specialized and industrialized, etc, it was easier to get a general understanding of most things at their surface level then.

Also I'm not sure if INTP stimulating makes sense because some other type may like some of these pictures for reasons other than the reasons that I like them so they appeal to someone else for different reasons and thus there really is no true INTP stimulating image is there? Fuck yes. This also plays a huge part in my fascination with things. I fucking love knowing that the next nearest star to us contains so many interesting worlds, some of which may be habitable, its just so poetic, and what does that tell you about the nature and commonality of these types of worlds orbiting these red dwarf stars? If we found 7 in just the closest star system next to us imagine how many there are in the red dwarf systems up to 100 light years from us - the odds are so fucking good, we may have Earthlike planets everywhere around us we just need to know where to look - they seem to be more common among Red Dwarf than Sun-like stars.

my nigga, it seems I'm not alone with that, good to know.

I also remember when I was younger I used to be able to close my eyes and sometimes imagine the space - the blackness I see when my eyes are closed, expanding infinitely in all directions giving me an insane sense of open boundless scale that I really loved, can't do it anymore though.

And I also enjoyed imagining me or characters in my fantasies being shrunken down to the size of dust mites or grains of sand in my environment so that suddenly a trip across the desk would take like years, the sudden expansion of size and distance, it really gets me going.

>which I think for some INTPs will tend to skew their interests towards astronomy and physics

Thats a seriously good observation because I feel the same happened to me, I'm mostly interested in astronomy and nanotechnology, but mostly astronomy, I'm more interested in the very large scale natural world than the very small or natural life-size scale.

But from what little I know of quantum physics/mechanics its a whole different level of fuckery on the smallest scales there.

What The Tower brings to the mix is sudden, usually unexpected change. With that change there will be a period of disorder, and there may be loss. However, the loss is probably not yours, since you may well be the agent that created the change to begin with. Many positive things can occur from the change The Tower indicates: Truths will be laid bare, revelations and breakthroughs are not just possible but likely, and nothing spurs creativity like a good dose of chaos and confusion. In the end it is likely that what replaces what was lost in the fall of The Tower will be worth the loss.

Courage - the ability to overcome fear and confront the unknown head on--is a primary ingredient of any victorious campaign and is denoted by the Chariot. So too is force of will. Often success is as much the product of will power and a refusal to surrender as it is anything else. The Chariot also represents the healthy personality of someone who believes in themselves; someone who can take control of the situation and bring events to a positive end. His successes come in competition with others.

>which I think for some INTPs will tend to skew their interests towards astronomy and physics

Honestly this makes a lot of sense in a way, when you are used to exploring and fantasizing about large scale and distance, you gravitate towards where that is a reality in life meaning astronomy and space sciences, and you're used to thinking in terms of long scale distance and large scale so neither bother you, and you have a maybe better grasp and understanding of the sheer scale and immensity of space involved that makes it easier to comprehend things and relate to and get excited about astronomy when the closest to a real tangible image of it you get are some blurry dots, but its not hard for you to at least partially comprehend and imagine the sheer scale of that blurry dot in the cosmic void, compared to the much brighter, closer dot that is our sun.

But I'm also not so interested in astronomy because its not visually interesting enough sadly, space in fantasy and imagination is more exciting and captivating than real space, but real space is captivating in its own way for being well, real and the source of inspiration for the fantasies and ideas.

INTP, Shinobu Morita probably. He's this really friendly, spontaneous guy who has a double life where he's hired by prestigious agencies to make art so he has to disappear for a while then comes back like nothing happened. looks like my train of thought is derailing, but I'll post it anyway because I spent some time on it

>cyberpunk
It's just romanticism, a form of escapism
you don't like the current world and wish to live in "better ages", thinking it was/will be better
sure, me too

But either they are too gloomy, exaggerating the vices of current society, or they are too optimistic about our behaviour.
What I mean is people always have these big visions about future technologies, how everyone will use them to their full potential, and it turns out most people only care about how easy something is. Like there is (was?) a trend of buttonless car stereos, but it turns out tactile? feedback is a nice thing to have when you are focused on driving, or if you had phone-controlled house locks, sure, futuristic, but it creates unnecessary probabilities of failure wheras a simple key and lock can be easily replaced if something goes wrong.
One day I saw an ad from our city trying to create a "more futuristic city" or so (which translated into making an app). And it did catch my attention and I thought about it, but ultimatately realized I was creating solutions for problems that didn't have to exist in the first place.
What I seem to be getting at is that for me they depict unrealistic life. I would have to think about it more to tell you why exactly I'm not that keen on them.

these 2000 character limits are not enough

>outer space
I figured you would have that one already.
The sad reality is that unless we break the speed of light somehow, most of these planets will just remain nice pictures of alien worlds.
Do you mean habitable for us or having the possibility of life? Surely if we can reach those planets we'll have enough technology to create hospitable environment anywhere we want. Therefore the sensation over their discovery is just a way for normies to pretend they enjoy Science(tm)
The possibility of life on another planets is... small, I think. I think people don't account for time. The Earth is 4.7 billion years old. Think about the dinosaurs, who roamed the Earth for 200 million years and were arguably the most succesful species - their time still accounts for only 4.2% of total Earth lifespan. Humans? 100 000 years, 10 000 years of civilization, not even a 100 years of space travel.
The chance of a space faring alien civilization? Considerable. The chance of our intersection? Eeeh.

REEEE get your practicality out of my imagination

I sometimes daydream about humans being the only intelligent life in the entire universe and how centuries of search and exploration has proved other intelligent life elusive, and sometimes about humans being the most common type of species to arise on Earth-like worlds, and humans being really common throughout the galaxy( a really fun and comfy idea because it means even if we fuck up on Earth, human, intelligent lifeforms exist elsewhere to carry on exploring and engaging with the universe). And other times I daydream about other shit.

While with cyberpunk its the combination of the aesthetic, visuals and all the possibilities that could exit and all the more interesting life becomes with cyborgs, robots, high tech low life, the aesthetics the music, everything that it involves its interesting to explore in a variety of cyberpunk media and genres and fiction. Even if reality will never end up that way.

What I'm trying to say is I don't care about the practicality of this stuff or how the reality will be, the fantasy is almost always better than the reality and thats what interests me more. If that makes sense.
And yeah the 2000 character limit is shit, it should be 2500, I always get cut off when I'm trying to finalize my last train of thought.

My name is anon, I am an INTP and I'm FUCKING MAD... noticeably angry... slightly peeved

Here's the deal - one of my uni lectures is situated in a remote building of some faculty's complex. Normally, this building would be directly accesible from a different street, except the entrance is currently closed under construction (= they put up a sign there two years ago and locked the door). This means you are forced to go all the way up a street, enter the yard, then go all the fucking way back.

Luckily you could cut through certain doors somewhere near the tram stop. This was a regular entrance with a janny and shit. Literally a walk up the stairs and then a walk down the stairs and you are in the yard. The janitor bitched at some girls a few months ago that "they aren't allowed to go there" and chased them out (they were since afraid to go there), but he never said anything to me because I haven't bothered to establish eye contact with him. So far so good.

This morning I enter the door of shortcuts and am greeted by keycard-locked doors. OK, no biggie, I'll just swipe my ID and it will let me in.
GOOD FUCKING TRY. The doors beeped negatively and I was forced to trod the entire length around like an idiot. Why? As a uni student I should have been granted access to all our buildings and indeed I am. But apparently the department of sculpting or whatever worthless crap resides in that building thinks they are above us common humans. The arbitrariness of it all is absolutely blood-boiling. It's unlogical. Rules for the sake of rules. Maybe I'll visit all the buildings of our university (and there's a shitload of them all over the city) and then write somebody a stern e-mail after it turns out their's is the only one I'm not allow to access. That will show them.

INTP, same here

I don't want to command or lead armies I just want to be thrust into the fray while war happens around me and respond to it dynamically occasionally taking my own initiative and going behind enemy lines, or shit with a small squad

Also my daydreams also often consist of patrolling, and gathering intel, combat drops into hostile cities that go awry.

Not always just constant action and thrills but the boring, less exciting parts of war too, and shit like blizzard coming in making conditions bad for warfare but it all takes place in my city so you get skirmishes and combat happening still.

Yes, sometimes moral relativism is real.
that a bad thing, because normies claim to know the edgy phrase"everything is relative" but they are stoneheads with thier own morals.
at the end of the test, the INTP is advised to keep a strong sense of standards and morals.
I know the reason for this, it is the Prespective.

Possibly, I don't think they are rigid and set in stone, there could be overlap and there could be a change in type, depending on various circumstances and factors.

>I have evolved beyond cyberpunk because it creates arbitrary limitations on your imagination

I disagree and "evolving beyond cyberpunk" just means you've cut out one more genre/theme/area of enjoyment and I don't quite understand why either, just because cyberpunk will never be a reality as we imagine it to be doesn't make all cyberpunk media worthless and not worth enjoying, it doesn't make sense but whatever.

I took the test twice and got intp both times.
But now that I've learned more about cognitive functions, I realize that I have Ni-Te and not Ti-Ne but I'm definitely not an intj because I'm disorganized and procrastinate a lot.

Can somebody please explain this shit to me?

INFP. Any other INFPs find that everyone is weirdly nice to you? In middle school I was bullied and treated like shit but from high school onwards normies are always really nice to me and tell me "wow anon you're so nice/sweet". It's like they're so used to everyone being an obnoxious asshole that just smiling and nodding at what they say and being polite makes you look like Jesus.
>>
>>36242947
He's more ISTP. INTPs don't tend to take themselves that seriously.
>>

ENTJ overlord here, this is your ranking of what?
>>
>>36244241
I find that people expect me to be a very nice person, and I feel suffocated to live up to that expectation.
>>
>>36244241
INTJ here, the only time normies are really nice to me is when they see what I am good at and are planning to use me
>>
>>36244241
INFP here

In elementary school and middle school I had a few friends and didn't get bullied. Still had some people act like dicks to me sometimes, but it wasn't on a regular basis. Later on my family kept moving further and further away, so I got more distant from friends. Later on I was too invisible to get bullied or make friends. I barely ever talked in high school unless I was spoken to and when I did I was polite but not overly nice. Some people I shared classes with said hi to me sometimes but no one ever tried to really be my friend
>>36244715
I feel this too, but it's more that I really want to find someone who I can actually open up to but I'm afraid they'll hate me when they find out how miserable and shitty I am

INTJs can be disorganized and procrastinate a lot. Myers-briggs describes how you process and interpret information. Think of your functions not like a bunch of people fighting to drive a car, but like a series of stomachs you use to digest new data. It passes from higher, more robust/developed functions to ones you don't understand/control deeper in your psyche.

INTP here, this a hundred times.

Hmm, I don't take anything or myself on 4chan seriously, but of course you can't always see that through text
Generally the more acquainted I become with a group, the more obnoxious and "cunty" I become - I am only shy out of unfamilarity - but that's most people I'd guess

Here's the thing. I'm just practising my sophism. Never believe anything I say (including this). I am not my argument. I am not my opinions and my beliefs. You shouldn't get your feelings hurt by my person. You should only get your feelings hurt by the argument I funnel through my body (this sounds very edgy, but I rewrote this paragraph like 5 times already because I can't express it better).
However, you can't get hurt by words itself - imagine if the word "ugly" suddenly sounded through the air without any source. On its own, the word has no power, but if you... what's the word for it... assume it was directed at you, then it will have a negative effect on you.
Since we now established you can't get your feelings hurt by words unless you link them to your person, it follows you also cannot get your feelings hurt if you break the link between the argument and my person.
These replies always start small and get bloated as I try to cover as many angles as possible, the joys of "INTP". Anyway, the devil's advocate. I have no horse in this race. I can argue against anything. I am not attacking your person, I am not defending my person, I simply try to adress the argument. It's just that people have this weird need to drag themselves in the mud with their horse or something.

Thus ends my injection of autism. Sorry to use you as a sorting board for my mind. Funny thing is, you could easily destroy my arguments by actually going through my posts and pointing out where I contradict myself with what I wrote here. I could then only pretend to ignore you or lengthily explain how I actually meant it this way and such bs as I'm doing now.
>>
>>36245845
I can respect that.

>Sorry to use you as a sorting board for my mind.

>I always do, but if it's a random human being, they're gone the moment they pull any sort of shit.
That's more reasonable but at the same time still faulty. I mean, I would be mostly the same but if they ever asked for forgiveness or I made an incorrect or harsh judgement then I'd think to reconsider.
>>
Is chronic procrastination meant to be an issue for INTPs? It's started messing with my life so I'd really like to fix it
>>
>>36248139
Yes, also for INFPs
Try to pursue your interests (or at least find out what they are) and you'll be suddenly motivated to actually do shit related to them
If you don't have any friends who you can talk with about your interests, try finding some

I'm an INTP and my opinion on morals is what is and isn't moral is a social construct. If the world and society was built differently, we could have completely different morality than we do now. For me my morality is most likely more skewed towards some robot cuck shit desu
>>
>>36244241
Being naturally nice to others is an Fi dominant thing. You don't want people to have a bad time so you treat them nicely and they really really appreciate it when you're nice to them. Also as you said people aren't treated nicely nowadays so dealing with genuine niceness and politeness from Fi dominant types does indeed make you look like Jesus to them.

Aside from being treated nicely you also get forgiven for everything. Like seriously I could fuck up really bad and people would just laugh it off and tell me to be careful or try harder next time.

the only thing they can manipulate is video game characters. their severe autism and their inability to understand normies (they have zero interest in sociology, psychology, anthropology, etc.) has prevented them from ruling the world. post is referring to the old times, INTJs don't care about religion, or the esoteric, and in those times they were content just to make inventions and war machines.
