Maybe not in the real world, but in the game, at the time, people cared. I would have people running up to me and showering me with admiration. I'm not even exaggerating. Having the best gear in the game and the rarest skillcape was a pretty big deal at the time. Game is shit now, but it at least made me feel like a somebody back then.
