It's no hard to learn guitar OP

Just learn to play on one string then start using powerchords, then just try using all the strings
>>
maybe you don't have motivation because in your heart you know all these aspirations are STUPID like how fucking idiotic is the whole concept of art if you think about it
>>
>>36215175
What do you think of people who do art for a living or have no talent other than art?
>>
>When someone ignores their talent for the sake of some stupid useless degree
It infuriates me, if you're good at something do it.
Do your stupid project as a side project or something and stop wasting that potential, that brainlets like myself will never have.
>>
>>36215175
Apathy is death. Trust me.
>>
>>36215267
This. Creativity and individuality is dead. It's best to shut up and put up. Or just whip your dick out.
>>

I really don't care about art or music, I just want something do other than vidya. but this problem happens there aswell, I love playing around with editors, sandbox games and mods but I can never create anything of my own

Also I wanna draw my own porn
>>
>start learning guitar
>it's insanely fucking boring once you get past the initial joy of learning basic chords and making nice sounds
>getting to the fun part involves lots and lots of basic chords
>get bored and guitar collects dust
>start taking singing lessons
>get mad imposter syndrome as i just don't have a strong enough voice to do the exercises compared to the other guys with well developed muscles and shit

Maybe I should sit down and write that fantasy setting down, although "i have a cool fantasy setting" doesn't really impress the normans as much as "i can sing like a boss" does
>>

Whats imposter syndrome? Something about the name makes me think I have it.
>>
>>36215492
It's when you start doing something new (usually a new job) and feel like you are worse than everybody else around you, like you're an imposter and not a real singer or whatever
It apparently happens often to people who get new jobs in software dev due to the hacky "nobody knows how anything works" nature of it, which is worrying because that's what I wanna get into as a career

build youy skills up by mimicking other peoples work. do you think every great artist started off "originally" without any other influences. And once you build your confidence up with whatever you're pursuing start making oregano artwork

Whatever pain it takes to learn will be amplified over time if you don't learn anything. It will be worse if you don't have any skill.

Also, you don't even have to be good at it. No great achievement is done with any more than immersion and continuous work. Just do it in a way that's compelling enough to keep on doing it.
>>
>have no imagination, creativity or patience to learn or create anything
I know that feel all too well. I am the least creative and imaginative person I know.
But I don't think those are actually necessary, patience on the other hand is.
But patience is like a muscle, you have to train it.
I am learning the harmonica now, in hopes that one day I'll just be fluent enough with it that it'll be just like speech to me.
What I mean by that is that we need no creativity to speak, but we do need to be fluent in a language, and then we can express ourselves. I believe the same thing goes with something like a musical instrument, and some other artistic forms like dancing.
Creativity and imagination sure help for any art, though imagination I am guessing is more related to sculpture and painting.

tl;dr just learn to play an instrument until you are fluent with it and you can use it to express yourself not unlike how you do through speech.

I agree with you on this.
Getting good at something means a shitload of legwork, it's the most dull process ever and you only reap the rewards after years of feeling absolutely incompetent and as if you were making no progress whatsoever.
That is the nature of it.
I guess that's why most people are mediocre.
>>
i got decent at guitar after about a year of practicing, but i still cant draw for shit even though ive been doing it my whole life, its like im missing the part of the brain that understands drawing.
>>
Well the imagination bit you can overcome by taking inspiration from real life.

Like drawing bridges.
>>
well if you want to start engineering things, start off following tutorials, then, when you have a decent understanding in your chosen context, try something without guidance, then try things that haven't been done before, it's fun man.
>>
>>36215417
make things you fucks, with your hands, make cool stuff, it's fun.
>>
I would start with reading hella self improvement books. Teaches you how you can work hard and stay focused. It also motivates you hella and can give you a direction.
