I saved up about 400k by age 25 working in finance and then my career fell apart because I can't into office politics. Does that count? Kind of just wanting to die half the time now, mixed with brief flights at attempting to pick things up again. I don't really understand how long-term career development is supposed to work. It seems like it's all about relationship management and politics and selling yourself constantly, all of which make me want to die even more. Life is meant for extraverts. It doesn't even matter how smart you are if you can't play politics and keep track of 500 different people constantly.
