If the witness don't show up to court you will be ok
I went for 90 days following a 3rd strike of petit larceny. Boredom was the defining feature. The """library""" was one small shelf with a handful of trash books nobody wanted. I didn't want to read them either. There was a television in the common room attached high on the wall where we couldn't reach. One channel that never changed. Lots of people watched it anyway. It's better than staring at a wall. It showed local news in the morning, talk shows during the day and Law & Order at night. I fucking hated Law & Order even before that. I never really liked Dr. Phil either. The food was bland and generic stuff that reminded me of school lunches. You can buy snacks if you have money but I didn't.
You're really just in there to kill time. Lots of people exercised or chatted. I didn't exercise but I made a few friends. Some pretty interesting people. It's hard to make proper friendships though because everyone's on a different time frame. They arrived before or after you did, they're leaving before or after you are, they're there for more or less time etc. Nobody got in any fights, we were always being monitored by staff "for our safety." Obviously nobody got raped either. There wasn't really any reflection on my part. It was just a 3 month waste of time. I learned a bunch of stuff about bullshit legal technicalities you can get in trouble for though. I still steal shit sometimes when I don't have money. I pay if I have money, but there's nothing you can really do about it when you need something and can't pay.
