What are some normalfag hobbies/interests that can be used as talking points in unavoidable conversations at school, work, etc? I'm looking to expand so I can work on my social skills. I'll start with ones that I have:
Piano (I'm not very good but I'm working on it)League of Legends, although I'm unrankedand other video games
I have an Instagram account with people added from high school

Dungeons and Dragons is my only hobby, DMing twice a week, am normie.

The only one you got right was instagram. League of legends will work with cyborgs at the very most, not normies. Pianos might work only if you're among a certain class of people.
It's important to understand that the majority of people can't speak about many different things. They don't know much and they don't care to. Talking about things they don't care about will actually make them feel offended, as if you're calling them stupid even if you aren't.
Usually it's best to talk about whatever it is that is relevant to their lives, i.e. work, college, whatever, current social events are also pretty big (these can be political, but it's risky).
You can also just let them speak. People love speaking and you just have to feign interest, nod or say "oh" from time to time. They love.
> cons
They'll love talking to you and will not stop talking.

>You can also just let them speak
every time i do this it feels like the other person never makes an effort to start a conversation and it's just awkward silence

OP here, same. My biggest fear is not being able to carry the conversation or reference something to keep it going (if this makes any sense)

not that anon, but in my experience you have to kinda start a topic and then appear interested (this is important) as they speak. pay attention too.
when they stop to ask you something, answer with something they can add to.
when they stop to see if you are still interested, ask them to elaborate about part of what they just said or mention something relevant
small talk is actually a pretty simple algorithm
