I like the show and I like the type of humor in the show. I grew up watching Evil Dead, Troma, Re-Animator etc. all that type of violent splatter sci-fi stuff, so Rick and Morty is right up my alley.

I can see why some people don't like it, it's bit chaotic and really fast paced, and most of the jokes are really cruel and dark.

There are certain sequences that happen in different episodes that I find pretty entertaining.

For example, I did enjoy when they were jumping through dimension where the roles of pizza, humans, chairs, and phones were being swapped/permuted through.

Also, the couple's counseling episode was a bit funny when Jerry goes to save Beth from an army of Beth's mental images of Jerry, but he's so cocky about it that she starts spawning self-congratulatory Jerries who are all wearing t-shirts with their own faces on them.

If you watch it casually it can be fun, just don't wear a fucking t-shirt and blab about it in public, because it's a basic thing to enjoy.

This is why I enjoy the show. This is also why I enjoyed Aqua Teen Hunger Force much more than this show. One of my best friends is a huge fan of The Simpsons and relates almost everything in life to references to the show. On the other hand I find it kinda boring, predictable, heavy on plot and light on humor.

If I'm not laughing at Rick and Morty at least I find it entertaining enough to sit through an episode. Many episodes of Family Guy have caused me to change the channel because I found one of the subplots to be a boring drag on the episode. I watch these shows before I go to sleep for a little bit of excitement and laughter. I don't care if it's stupid as long as it rolls along.
