Ringing, endless vague ringing. When I attempt to ignore it it gets drastically, spitefully louder
>>
>>36037270

>>
>>36037270

Eh, I've had it all my life. I remember being a kid and asking my mother that it was. She always told me it was the sound of silence, your brain inventing sound to fill in the gaps

Only in the last five years did I discover it's not normal. Btu it's never particularly bothered me, it doesn't aggravate headaches or keep me awake
>>
>>36037449
Neat, it sounds like going camping next to a river.
>>
Yep mine is pretty shit, gotta have white noise like fand on. If it's complete silence the ringing gives me an intense feeling of panic.

>be me 15
>Get tinnitus from an ear infection
> Got depressed and can't do normal activities like reading or studying

I randomly woke up with severe tinnitus on April Fools 2 years ago. Immediately went to the doctor but they found nothing wrong with me, and after 10 days, it faded to mild ringing with whistling in one ear. I remembered how angry/depressed I would get about it for the first few months but now I literally forget I have it except in the few minutes between lying in bed and falling asleep.
>>
>>36037226
What do you mean with it sounds like dupstep. For me it's just a constant beeb/woosh sound.
>>
>Be me 17
>Be in first year of Uni
>Everything looking up, doing well
>Suddenly unexplained onset of tinnitus
>Leads to insomnia
>Have to pull out of all classes
>Lose all friends
>Stay at home all day
>This goes on for about 2 years
>Only just starting to recover, though without meds I still can't sleep
>Attempted to go back last semesta & failed 2 classes

This is how I ended up here. fml.
>>
I've been working in a call centre for 6 months and the noise in my left ear became really loud the past 2 months, so now im on meds and I already gave my 30 days notice, the meds reduce the noise a bit and hopefully when I stop talking on the phone constantly it will be much more tolerable. It really sucks when only one ear is affected by it.

i have had pulsative tinnitus since i was 13 years old, so i have had it for 7 years.

My tinnitus is caused by blood pressing on the
hearing nerves. So if i exercise a lot and eat
healthy stuff i can reduce it by 90%.
>>
>had tinnitus the past 3 years
>have to have background noise to sleep now
>randomly about 3 times a day the ringing gets so loud its painful for about 30 secs and I have to stop whatever im doing and close my eyes
atleast im not a faggot desu
>>

What the fuck happened here my dude
>>
>>36039264
Lol get fucked normie teenfag
>>
Mild tinnitus here, it seems to be mildly improving over time.
I find how it interacts with drugs really interesting. MDMA makes it disappear almost entirely, and higher doses of ket transforms it into strange alien buzzing sounds
>>
Fuck you for reminding me about it. It's easy to ignore when I forget about it but when I know or when I'm stressed it can be unbearable. I wish there was a way to just temporarily become completely deaf so I wouldn't have to deal with this shit.
>>
>>36040928
This is going to sound stupid, but do earplugs help?
>>
had it since I was 15 and went to a shitty metal gig, worst decision of my life. I wish I'd been warned about how damaging seeing loud bands in shit venues can be. Ringing began in one ear quietly, and over time progressed into both ears and got louder. At 19, I now struggle to hear people speak over the ringing.
>>
>>36040950
No, they'd actually make it worse cause there'd be less outside noise to counter it

Can anything trigger tinnitus? What the fuck yo, like if I sneeze too hard will I get it
>>
>>36040968
>At 19, I now struggle to hear people speak over the ringing
Shit man, mine's just barely audible. Guess I shouldn't blast music so loud
>>
>>36041001
I dunno man, I'm no expert. The doctors said there was nothing they could do.
I doubt you'd get it from sneezing, but loud noises are definitely a danger. I think for some it's genetic as well
>>
Tinnitus must be a hypochondriac's worst nightmare
>>
>>36041012
If you go to a concert (especially a small basement type one), always wear ear plugs. You might look like a prat but it's better than having hearing issues for life. Just don't blast music to a point where it's uncomfortable and it should be fine. I was standing right by extremely loud speakers while some dude screamed down a mic when mine came on
>>
wtf
why do so many people have it
my ears got fucked up last week
fucks happening

Mine only pops up when it comes to my mind like after seeing this thread or I hear a high pitched sound like a flashbang going off in a game.
It becomes really loud and irritating.

It most commonly happens when I'm in bed, in complete silence. It just gets louder and louder until I kind of get used to it and then I don't hear it again.

I feel like its psychological more than anything else. At least in my case since my hearing itself is top notch. I went to a doctor about it and he didn't notice anything physically wrong with my ears.
>>
Just listen to ASMR all day and all your tinnitus and loneliness will wash away.
>>
does anyone else with tinnitus get occasional stabbing-like pain in their ears?
>>
>>36041109
It's probably physical, but psychological stuff can make physical stuff happen. So if you think your foot hurts or something, it'll hurt even if it shouldn't
>>
>>36041136
No, never had such pain.
You better check your doc.
>>
>>36037226
Mine came back recently, no idea why I bet its the loud fucking kids on the bus or something. It went away for months too. Fuck my life.
>>
>>36041074
No it makes it better you hope its a brain cancer so the noise fucking stops when u ded
