Accounting is hell. I have pretty high social problems and went into accounting thinking I'd have my face buried in documents all day.

My jobs so far have forced me to be ridiculously social. Work accounts payable? Prepare to have people calling you about payment all the time. Depending on your boss you may have a boss who tells you to hold off on paying certain large bills for cash flow reasons. Guess what? He doesn't want to talk with the vendors, and he doesn't want you to say "sorry can't pay you right now" to them. You basically have to dance around saying stuff like "I'll see if I can get that processed as soon as possible!". But guess what? That same pissed off vendor is going to call you next week; "where's my money you promised?!". Also prepare to have certain people you work with laughing in the background because they can hear the vendor screaming at you over the phone, this has happened to me on several occasions.

Work accounts receivable? Prepare to be calling people and haggling them about payment status nonstop. Prepare for your boss to ask you why you're not being assertive enough, but don't be rude or you'll get in trouble.

Working in a higher up accountant position? Prepare to be talking over reports with various co-workers. Possibly even giving presentations at meetings.

Prepare for there being lots of women around too. Lots of females go into accounting. Not the most attractive women, but if you get nervous around girly group huddle giggles and hush hush office gossip, you've been warned.

Data entry is soulcrushingly dull. I did a job that was maintaining the system for pretty large company. It was data entry and tech support all the way down with all kinds of numbers that needed to be met and socialisation between team mates. Weren't allowed phones or music either.

Every job requires socialisation because you get money from doing something for somebody else. Even if you go hermit mode for a year and make the next youtube or a video game you still have to socialise to market the thing.

I work nights, and it's just me in this massive warehouse. I arrive after the day time workers have gone home, and when I'm gone by the time the early birds get in. I just wipe hard drives for 8 hours a day.
I'm very efficient and technical, so I can process 300 hard drives a night, of course, this means lifting 300 computers. So if you're completely crippled this job isn't for you.
It pays good too, $200 a night + other government worker benefits.

Dealing with this now. I got hired on as a security guard at a small regional hospital about a month ago. I've covered 6+ shifts, worked 2 doubles, worked a day shift one day and a night shift the next day, and have yet to work the schedule they hired me for.
