The trick is to bang it out as soon as possible, preferably on the same day as you are assigned it, regardless of the quality. Just literally rant and ramble for 2000 words even if it's completely wrong. Then you can go back and fix it later, or just submit your original drivel if you run out of time. This tip applies to literally everything in life.

OP here, I'm getting through it just banged out a few hundred words, I might make it but it's going to be shit quality.

For the last 3 years on my law degree every piece of assessed essay is done on the morning it is due.
The deadline is normally 4pm so I will get up at 7/8, get to the library and pump it out. Needless to say I'm not doing very well.
I literally don't know what's wrong with me. I mean, it's normal to procrastinate but when it's something as important as a degree the only conclusion I can come to as to why I consistently have done this is I am deficient in some way.
This year ( my final year lol) it seems to have got worse. I will do the above but then spend the first 1/2 hours fucking about in the library leaving me even less time.

I've got high B's on 2500 word essays written in the aforementioned fasion. It's doable.

The worst procrastination i ever had was when i couldn't even sum up the willpower to start it after i was given extensions and i never started it.

I was probably the most extreme procrastinator at my uni. I couldn't even bring myself to start most assignments before they were due and would often hand in papers 3-5 days late and just accept deductions.
I eventually got put on academic probation and dropped out.
Apathy was a mistake.

I hate how you have to write essays with a certain amount of words. All that should matter is that you are able to present all of your points on your topic in a clear and understandable manner. Having to write x amount of words just makes people add unnecessary bullshit to their paper.
