Any robots on SSRIs? I've been taking Zoloft for two weeks and the nausea/weakness/dry mouth is killing me. Does it get better?
>>
no. after 2 years I just quit them
>>
>>35989290
No, fuck ssris.
>>
>>35989290
>ywn be cooked after you die and then have an octopus shoved up your ass
I don't even care man it's a completely neutral feel
>>
>>35989290
Zoloft fucks me up. Makes it unable to sleep and gives me weird as fuck dreams. Now I just put the pill under my tongue when my parents make me take it, and spit it out in the toilet when they ain't lookin
>>
>>35989290
Yes it does but if you're still having problems after an extended period then go back the doctor and tell the. There are a range of options out there for you. Any moron who tells you otherwise is out to harm you, they want you to fail. I Don't. Hang in there and sort yourself out.
>>
Side effects to ssri's usually subside within 4 to 6 weeks. They will also start working properly within that timeframe. You should make an appointment with your doctor/psychiatrist after 6 weeks have passed for evaluation.

If the nausea stays for one more week I recommend you visit the doctor and see about switching to a different med.

What I can tell you is that it usually takes two or three tries to get the right medicine for you (maybe more if you're dealing with just your normal doctor, psychiatrists are way better at it.)

Hang in there anon. The following few months may suck but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Be careful OP. I was given lexapro 20mg and it sent me insane, literally. They called it hypo mania, very lucky not to have ended up in mental ward or arrested. Fuk ssris senpai
>>
>>35990743

Shilllll REEEEE
>>
>>35990780
20mg lexapro did that? very surprising senpai
>>
>>35990743

Spooky. You sound like copypast from /x/. I certainly don't want to lead anyone astray who may require medication but dang...
>>
>>35991151
Only took 3 months on it and was almost completely insane, got into fights a lot, spent nearly all my savings (50k) lost my car and had a knife put to my throat at one stage, funny story, never ever again senpai, never again
>>
Taking 10mg Escitalopram a day. Depression pretty much no longer an issue, and had no other side effects except that it's harder to cum (but not impossible).
>>
>>35991664
That's lexapros active ingredient, be careful anon.
>>
>>35991685
Yeah, been taking it for a couple of months now - I feel fine. Also helps with my IBS. Understandably it's not for everyone though.
>>
I'm on Cipralex (for 1 month now)

Feel better (suicidal thoughts gone, get up in the morning on time, do laundry & dishes, etc.).

Only side effect is that I now have mild Erectile Dysfunction - might try to score some viagra since I have insurance.
>>
>>35991698
If people start to say you're speaking to quickly and notice you aren't sleeping tell your doc about it, that was the first stages for me on the slope to insanity, my doc missed it. I was fine for the first few months too, then then next 3 months after that I completely lost it. But you might be ok just be careful. I don't want anyone to do what I did
>>
>>35991730
Thanks for the tip famalam, I'll be sure to watch for that
>>
Yeah, for my migraines, and some slight antidepressants before sleep as a prophylactic. Not helping much.

that's mania not hypomania, you tard. hypomania is a slight euphoria; it doesn't send you spiraling like that.
>>
I had a bad experience with my ssri where my dose was way too high and I went fucking bonkers one night like 3 weeks in. Previously I was just having trouble sleeping because my brain felt like it could never stop racing, despite being super drowsy cause of the meds anyway.

Just be careful. If something isn't sitting right with you and your medication stop taking it and tell your doctor. You'll get the whole bullshit about you need to take it x amount of time but making sure your brain isn't fucked up permanently cause of ssris is more important then letting them prove a general point.
>>
>>35991902
I'm pretty sure you've never had any of that. I'll stab you in the shitter m8. I know what I had, and there is nothing "slight"
About it
>>
I was taking Celexa, absolutely killed my libido for months.
>>
>>35989290
Hi, been on zoloft for about a year now myself. Started at a small dosage and now I'm on 100 mg daily. It does get better, it's worked well for me and really helped kick my depression. Only problem is I have a loaded and inconsistent schedule so I often forget to take it at the same time every day and so I get this weird nauseous feeling and lightheaded and feel like my blood is thinner and I can feel it rushing around in my veins when I move. It sucks, but aside from that it's worked great for me.
>>
>>35990780
Lexapro is absolute trash tier. I dated a girl on it, it made her fucking psycho too. Also it made her pussy taste like shit.
>>
>>35992131
Trash tier confirmed. Absolute garbage
>>

Mostly happens to be people with un-diagnosed Bipolar disorder. You can be a manic-depressive stuck in the depressive phase all your life, and anti-depressants then boot you into the manic phase for the first time ever.

I was on SSRI's at a low point in my life. (No one tells you that you need them at any other time of course). They fucked up me, get off them. It does NOT get better, it gets worse. Read pic related, you'll thank me after.
>>
>>35992284
This is exactly what the doctor told me, he then tried to prescribe me seroquel. I went and got assessed by a pyschiatrist who said I am not bi-polar. I've never had any bi polar symptoms before or since. I think the whole bi polar thing is just a way of deferring the blame from the medicine to the patient. I know people with bi polar and I can safely say I am not that. Just had an adverse reaction to the lexapro
>>
I took citalopram for 6 months and it permanently changed my personality for the worse. SSRIs are fucked up shit man.
>>
Been on six or seven different SSRI's in my life time. All of them except one, Zoloft, would kick in about a month after taking them. Felt absolutely great, on top of the world if you will. Then roughly three months later I would crash and fucking burn. Hope they work for you though anon.
>>
>>35989290
I take 10mg of fluoxetine every three days. It kind of sucks not being able to drink as much, but otherwise it doesn't bother me.
>>
Escitalopram did weird things to me. They helped in the first few months and I should have stopped shortly after but I somehow ended up on them for almost 4 years. They're not supposed to be addictive but withdrawal is a bitch.
>>
I don't think I could ever go on SSRI's. It's not like I'm clinically depressed. My depression & anxiety stem from my environment more than anything.

They just have so many side effects and it could potentially take months to find the right ones for you, all the while your brain is constantly being fucked up from going on and coming off a variety of drugs.

All for what? They stop you from feeling *anything* and stop your dick working.
>>
Been on Prozac for a while, i don't think it works for me but I don't want to switch meds
>>
>>35991575
What was it all spent on?
>>
>>35989290
No. Took zoloft from 14-20, then switched to prozac + wellbutrin which I've been on for almost 3 years. When I see my psychiatrist in may, I'm gonna ask to ween off and quit. It's stopped working just like the zoloft did. It's all temporary bullshit. Plus after all the shit I've read about permanent brain damage lately, I'd rather deal with my depression and anxiety on my own instead of letting some poison slowly eat away at my brain for the rest of my life
>>
>>35994942
Pretty much, modern psychiatry is a joke. Not a single one of the 8-9 people in my surroundings that have taken SSRI/SNRI got better in some constructive long term way. Neither did i. It just disconnects you from your experiences and after some time the old issues often start to manifest in some way regardless. Possibly useful in the absolute worst cases of depression/anxiety and for people with kids that need to stay afloat no matter what etc. However they are imo absolutely awful for particularly young adult males, who need motivation and energy to compete and get a foothold in life. What they don't need is lethargy, indifference and erectile dysfunction.

I had to explain to my mom why I had secretly quit taking them when she found out.

"I couldn't get an erection."
>>
>>35989290
I'm on Effexor but I don't really feel any different
I've been on it for years though
>>
Last I checked, aren't anti-depressants supposed to be combined with therapy for best results?

And lifestyle changes can help too. Exercising, eating healthier, etc. Of course I know that isn't possible for all robots, but it helps mild depression. Source: extensive research on depression.
>>
>>35989290
Hey OP, hang in there pal. I just started taking lexapro two weeks ago, and it's been a trip. but it's finally a step forward, and it's making my parents feel better about my life. I was diagnosed with depression back in 2010 but i never took any action because i thought the diagnosis meant nothing and i was afraid to take any mood stabilizers because i felt permanently numb already. but after 6 years wasted in misery and squalor, developing a heavy drinking problem, and getting arrested during a manic state, I'm finally ready to take ssris. hopefully by week 4-6 the side effects will have lessened and the apathy subsides.
>>
>>35997625
See, it'll only work for a short amount of time.
My story is here >>35995792
I thought meds were the answer but they don't work anymore. Now I'm just riding hardcore feelings of dissassociation 24/7 and it fucking sucks
