I found the phantom troupe to be too ruthless and simple to be interesting. I liked the chimera ant and the King as an antagonist because of the moral ambiguity and questions that got brought up. With the phantom troupe it was like... okay, those are 100% the bad guys who'll kill fucking anyone and have no redeeming anti-hero qualities. Just boring good vs pure evil.

Wouldn't call it the best. But it was a worthwhile watch. Chimera ant arc dragged on a bit, maybe relied a bit too much on the narrator at times, classic battle shonen with all that comes with it in terms of some times tediously explaining battle techniques, the occasional deus ex machina and the power of friendship (tm). Lots of parallells to YYH tho, was sort of fun to watch and pick them up.
