i don't know if all of this would be solved through legalization and regulation. the porn industry is legal and there is still a lot of room for people to be taken advantage of or misled. and there will always be people who have peculiar sexual tastes so even if certain things are legalized, i would guess that the underage sex trade and other shady stuff would not go away.

that being said, i do think it should be legal. oversight would keep the majority safer and there are people who choose to do it because they don't care about screwing strangers. the bad stuff exists anyway but i don't think it's true that ALL instances of sex for money is victimless, even when it's legal. if it's legalized, i think it would be best if the prostitutes were not only screened for disease but also for hard drug use. it's one thing if you get addicted on your own and use drugs to support the habit but it's too easy for someone else to purposely get you hooked so you have no other options. i don't like the idea of people getting taken advantage of and assuming it's "victimless" because you didn't see the coercion or manipulation with your own eyes.

Of course, there is absolutely no reasonable argument for it to be illegal. All it being illegal does is force the management of it into the hands of criminals, making it infinitely more dangerous and abusive for all involved.
