The last good memory I have is from 2010.

I was sitting on my roof, in the dead of winter watching the 2010 Lunar Eclipse on the Winter Solstice. I vividly remember it as the last time I not only was happy, but enjoyed something. I was 17 at the time.

The vibrant red moon, with the surrounding stars was magnificent. It was like a send off to my happiness.

God, I want to die.

Everyday I find myself dreading the turn of time more and more.

Lately I've really been getting into vaporwave, retro gaming (sad that Doom and shit is now retro), I'm thinking about even building a nice gaming rig with Windows 98 or XP to play games from that era.

Fuck man. Why does shit have to be so shitty now? And to think, that when we're gone, kids here will be having nostalgia about now. And honestly, I won't blame them because now probably is better than where we're headed. Seems like everything's goes more to shit with every passing day.

Part of me hopes that with all this buzz around new technologies like VR, electric/automated cars, etc. we'll see a resurgence of the 80s spirit of innovation and all the happiness that resulted from that. But, who knows...

It's probably mostly just childhood nostalgia but the early 2000s really do seem based in comparison to now. Everyone seemed happier and the world made more sense. Now no one knows what the fuck is going on. Multiculturalism, feminism and the rise of normies on the internet are to blame.

Everything feels cheap and fake. Everything. Like a copy of a copy rushed through an obsolete copymachine. My life was and is shit but back then there was still... meaning? A sense of order, some kind of fundamental truth behind the curtain to which all adhered? It's really hard to pinpoint this feeling. It's like today we're living in a nightmare, but it's a pitiful, fake nightmare that is horrifying precisely because it is bland and washed out. Nothing makes sense anymore. There's nothing to do and nowhere to go. It's all the same tastless blend of meaningless people and meaningless things. The Internet is dead, and it hurts. Back in 2005 and 2006 this was an amazing website, and there were other places with actual worthwhile content too. Life itself as well as the world still seemed alive, full of energy and if not optimism then a sense of purpose, a willingness to stand and fight for something.

Life in the 90s was amazing and it feels like a fairy tale. It feels unreal and so distant from our current situation that it baffles me. It was real yet it now seems like a beautiful dream that has ended. I was there, I lived through it, but now it looks like it was a fantasy. The contrast is just too vast for me to comprehend.

I want all of this to end. It's horrifying. This is hell.

The events that have transpired since about 2010 or so are so inconceivable to me that I've started questioning the nature of reality.
