I wonder what actually went wrong. If Obama wasn't elected, McCain would have been and that would have undoubtedly been worse.

But a Gore presidency means that the 2000s would have never happened.

Where did everything go so wrong?

Honestly, I got bullied to hell and back as a child, but I'd still rather exist during those times, in the early 2000's than this current hell I'm living in.

Good god, once 2010 hit, it's like that was it for my happiness.

The last good memory I have is from 2010.

I was sitting on my roof, in the dead of winter watching the 2010 Lunar Eclipse on the Winter Solstice. I vividly remember it as the last time I not only was happy, but enjoyed something. I was 17 at the time.

The vibrant red moon, with the surrounding stars was magnificent. It was like a send off to my happiness.

God, I want to die.
>>
Everyday I find myself dreading the turn of time more and more.

Lately I've really been getting into vaporwave, retro gaming (sad that Doom and shit is now retro), I'm thinking about even building a nice gaming rig with Windows 98 or XP to play games from that era.

Fuck man. Why does shit have to be so shitty now? And to think, that when we're gone, kids here will be having nostalgia about now. And honestly, I won't blame them because now probably is better than where we're headed. Seems like everything's goes more to shit with every passing day.

Part of me hopes that with all this buzz around new technologies like VR, electric/automated cars, etc. we'll see a resurgence of the 80s spirit of innovation and all the happiness that resulted from that. But, who knows...
>>
It's probably mostly just childhood nostalgia but the early 2000s really do seem based in comparison to now. Everyone seemed happier and the world made more sense. Now no one knows what the fuck is going on. Multiculturalism, feminism and the rise of normies on the internet are to blame.
>>

2010 was a hybrid transitional phase for me, everything after 2010 has basically been one single blurry clusterfuck

In 2013 things were looking better for a couple months again but then i got incredibly intense pushback on all fronts and as a result things have (at least on a subjective level) just regressed further since then

The standard of living may be roughly the same still but it feels like you're treading water all the time regardless

I firmly believe our species is headed for self made extinction. Between climate change, the unnecessary boom of offspring from third world shitholes. The feminized west. There are so many factors working against humanity right now, we lost the chance to travel the stars.

Take solace in the fact we'll see the collapse of humanity in our lifetime.
>>
>>35972545
Yeah I'm having a hard time figuring this out too. It's like pretty much everyone from everywhere in every time period has nostalgia from when they were younger. So I'm sure it's an element of that.

At the same time though, I'm still young (19) and I feel like you. Nowadays pales in comparison to then. Even though I still have my youth, am in college, and have honestly continued to have a pretty chill life, I still miss those times.

I would like to go back to 1996 and stay locked in that year. Internet was barely usable, cellphones weren't mainstream, VHS tapes were still around. The atmosphere back then felt so great and there was still a sense of exploration and the unknown, i remember visiting small towns or villages and feeling completely isolated, it had an horror movie atmosphere.

I think the slow death of chan culture and everything going to shit in 2008 with facebook and the iphone are connected. Tech used to be shit for losers and if you spent all day on the internet you were a fucking loser (how it should be to be honest). But after 2008 everyone is on the internet and it's not looked down on anymore. So now you have "look at this epic new maymay we found, le grumpy cat xD" on the 6 o'clock news because not only is everyone on the internet, but the news is trying to get peoples attention 24/7 now with any dumb shit they can think of because they have access to people 24/7 now that the internet got normieized from the iphone. And all semblance of chan's being interesting has disappeared. 8ch was ok but even it's not immune from being normie ville obviously.

What a shit time this is. We need to just shame people out of using smart phones desu. If we can get them to stick them in a microwave we can probably get them to drop them all together.

Teaching English is no way to live for very long, but here are other viable ways of living overseas, it honestly seems like the third way for our breed, by our breed I don't just mean robots, I mean non-cucked white guys.

I'd like to believe Trump could turn things around, or at least hit the breaks on for a decade, but you can't really turn back the clock, culturally. Even he knows western women are trash and got himself a slav.

8ch did actually have a pretty high concentration of oldfags, last year, since then moderation has weeded out any intellectually minded posters and rewarded the very worst elements that were there (meme spewing stormfags), you'd think racism would scare away normies and redditors, and it sometimes does, but a subset wears it like a badge of homour, and it just becomes an identity like any other normie fucking trend.

But it had some amazing threads in the past couple years, pic related, to this thread.

I've been mulling it over and I realized the Trump phenomenon actually made imageboard culture great again in 2016, it was an exciting fucking time for anons, a lot of oldfags came out of retirement to take part in the meme wars and that enthusiasm carried over into the other boards. But now there's nothing to stick around for.

I'm an old fag and the rampant Trump shilling drove me away. Was great while the election lasted, but they need to move on to something else now that the election is over. I don't want to visit a chan to read 4+ years of identity politics. 8ch seem stale and slow now.

Now for an mostly unrelated rant. It's apparent the old ways of the internet are slowly dying. It's turning into a corporate, information tracking, walled playground now. I always thought the wild west days of the internet would die, but I'm still sad to see it go.
>>
I feel like shit like Tinder has given people too high of standards. You've given people control over who they can "talk to", and of course the problem is men will say like to any girl with a moderately attractive face, but girls, especially fat girls who think their curves are god's gift to this earth think they deserve the 6-pack guy who goes to a prestige university meanwhile that okay looking shlup who's probably one of the funniest and nicest people you've ever met is passed over because you don't know your own worth.

Everything feels cheap and fake. Everything. Like a copy of a copy rushed through an obsolete copymachine. There's nothing authentically "alive" today in a deeper sense, be it fiction or people as such. I honestly don't know how or why, but even time itself feels fake. I still can't wrap my mind around 2017. It's like the last real years were before 2010, 2012 tops.

As the >>35974758 guy who isn't even American I can only say that this isn't about the economy or shit like that. It's like everything is spent, tired, old and running on pure inertia. It's like we're dead and everything around us is dead. I see everything becoming uglier by the minute, every beautiful thing has been destroyed and I myself feel less real and I dare say good than I was at age 20, or even 25. My life was and is shit but back then there was still... meaning? A sense of order, some kind of fundamental truth behind the curtain to which all adhered? It's really hard to pinpoint this feeling. It's like today we're living in a nightmare, but it's a pitiful, fake nightmare that is horrifying precisely because it is bland and washed out. Nothing makes sense anymore. There's nothing to do and nowhere to go. It's all the same tastless blend of meaningless people and meaningless things. The Internet is dead, and it hurts. Back in 2005 and 2006 this was an amazing website, and there were other places with actual worthwhile content too. Life itself as well as the world still seemed alive, full of energy and if not optimism then a sense of purpose, a willingness to stand and fight for something.

Life in the 90s was amazing and it feels like a fairy tale. It feels unreal and so distant from our current situation that it baffles me. It was real yet it now seems like a beautiful dream that has ended. I was there, I lived through it, but now it looks like it was a fantasy. The contrast is just too vast for me to comprehend.

I want all of this to end. It's horrifying. This is hell.

It's like "my life" up until 2010 or so was a story I memorized when I left from a conveyor belt. There was nothing to live for then, now, nor there will be in 5 years from now on. The only moment I felt alive was when I watched new Samurai Jack. To see my fav character struggle with his inner demons really felt like it was telling me it's okay to feel this way, because the world is shit.
I try to get a grip on my life, try to follow my peers who seem to be doing well, but I just can't. Like I'm trying to perform CPR on someone who's been dead for hours.
>>
>>35975724

The world has gotten more cruel than it was in the 90's, so have the people.

In the 90's if you were a social outcast for the most part people left you alone. Today if you're an outcast it's like it's open hunting season and everybody wants to bag a trophy buck.
>>
When I got my first job at 24, I felt like I woke up for the first time. I think its because I was not used to being 8 - 10 hours without my computer. It changed everything. I started to think about my life, how many years passed me by and I did not do anything with the time, and the fact that I was still a virgin. Then I started to panic. Also video games lost their appeal.

>I try to get a grip on my life, try to follow my peers who seem to be doing well, but I just can't. Like I'm trying to perform CPR on someone who's been dead for hours.

I feel the same. And the true horror of it is the PAIN. Emotional and physical pain. I endure pain during work, during social interaction and just for existing. I desire nothing. A normie life is nothing to me. But merely to exist in this abomination of a world I have to bleed like a pig.

We endure this torment for nothing. Nothing we want. And there's nothing to be gained by enduring this, in fact our endurance only makes mommy, daddy or whoever your others are more eager to thrust us deeper into hell for things we don't want, need or have any interest in. This insanity is hell. The things I want are wholly immaterial and I can't seem to find them. Perhaps death truly is the only solution. I'm already 30, soon to be 31, and I see no light at the end of the tunnel. I only see this becoming an even greater hell.

Please God, make it all stop. Destroy us or liberate us. I honestly don't care what you do - just make it all go away. Please.
>>
I wish I could meet others like you all irl. Maybe life wouldn't be such hell if we had others around who understood our pain.

It was the summer of 2008, I think, when I was just a lad, that I had a whole summer where I did nothing but watch anime, never before or since repeated

I watched (not in order) Fruits Basket, Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh, and Death Note. It was a special time, filled with much laughter and good feels.

I don't think Death Note or Code Geass could ever really return. Why it was good then is probably reflective of a different attitude we had versus now. Both Light and Lelouch are borderline chads when you think about it.

/pol/ is overrun with the same kind of faggotry that it demonizes Reddit for. It's identity politics and groupthink that discourages dissent and critical thought, and encourages spreading its opinion like an intolerant religion to every single board it can. It twists every conversation into politics and spams the same memes and etiquette specific to its own board everywhere else. Not to mention that it's full of normies, dumb normies, hence the full legitimacy of the last panel.

The fact you can't see that is just indicative of the kind of poison 4/pol/ has become.
>>
>>35979107

Not him but there is a clear difference between /pol/ and Reddit. And that's that on /pol/ you can say any opinion you want, it doesn't matter how left wing or SJW, you can post and talk about it, whereas on reddit any post that is controversial/offensive will get deleted. In fact it's arguably the lack of heavy moderation that makes /pol/ the way it is: nationalist views tend to be deleted on most other websites.
>>
>>35979107
>/pol/ is overrun with the same kind of faggotry that it demonizes Reddit for. It's identity politics and groupthink that discourages dissent and critical thought
No anon, the people at /pol/ simply stopped discussing what was enstablished after years of research and revelations, the users and the moderation simply was fed up with the spoonfeeding and now just locks dumb threads.
>and encourages spreading its opinion like an intolerant religion to every single board it can
It's not a religious war, nor an identity one, it's a war against great infiltrators and disguisers, that occupy our society's "neural network", the only way to fight it is to spread the cure. /pol/, even the 8 one (which is quite decent even now), easily attracts extremists, but a good portions of the users know that whatever race or religion you are, if you promote National socialism, which actually mean care for one's people, you're part of the movement.
>It twists every conversation into politics and spams the same memes and etiquette specific to its own board everywhere else
Most of the shit you see is related to politics, even the constant posting of dicks and trannies you see here in this board, even /gif/ didn't use to have so many dicks before, that's an agenda and a long story that any (8)/pol/ anon would be able to tell and know who to blame for.
>Not to mention that it's full of normies, dumb normies, hence the full legitimacy of the last panel.
On the contrary, i've seen the most autistic investigations i've ever seen on those boards, and that's just nothing compared to the mystics and occultists, that proved their shit on 8 pol.

The fact you can't see that is just indicative of the kind of poison 4/pol/ has become.

4pol is dead, 4chan is dead as a whole, also 4/pol/ moderation is corrupt and actually deletes any possible serious argoument, leaving the spam like "is x degenerate" or other shit.

/pol/ is not dead, it has simply moved somewhere else, 5 years ago

I used to play a non-steam version of CSS (which didn't even have multiplayer) until 2011, I remember playing a pirated copy of CS 1.6 before school with friends. Good times.

The events that have transpired since about 2010 or so are so inconceivable to me that I've started questioning the nature of reality. Personally I believe that the elites are trying (and succeeding) to unleash a new era of evil through child sacrifices and CERN opening up a portal to the underworld. Dark energy is flooding our planet and the events that people are mentioning ITT are symptomatic of that. This is far more sinister than typical nostalgia, there will be a time that we look back on as "the good old days" in a literal sense.

I know astrology is heavily looked down upon here and in general...

But I think I should put it out there that Pluto the planet kind of defines ages. It has a significant effect on the general mood for each slice of time that it's in a certain sign.

Pluto in Sagittarius was last and it was from 1995-2008
http://www.alwaysastrology.com/pluto-in-sagittarius.html

Pluto is in Capricorn now since 2008 and will remain there till 2024
http://www.alwaysastrology.com/pluto-in-capricorn.html

If this is at all an explanation, then we have more suffering ahead of us, but 2024 will see Aquarius host Pluto, and it should be like the old days yet again by then.

I wasn't very interested in astrology, but once i got into that planets stuff, i noticed it literally described every situation i was into at every planetary movement, perfectly with low or no error.

>2024

>>
>>35980265
I think I should provide an example of what I'm getting at to help make sense of it.

You know how video games and movies have stagnated? Sagittarius as a sign can be stereotyped as experimentation and exploration, so you had a lot of games and films that were willing to be new and different. Capricorn stereotyped is conservative and boring, focused on monetary gain rather than pushing boundaries, so you end up with safe rehashes of old stuff and the indefinite prolonging of a series that otherwise would have been concluded had it not been for the greed of its sheppherds.

Have you ever noticed that /pol/, the SJWs, full-on commies, and so on, all sort of have the same basic skeleton?

Like, the platform for any of them is pretty simple:
>cut down on porn
>more protections for women, especially sexually
>more power for the state, as long as it's ours
>be tougher
>seek status and virtue

I feel like the internet is somehow triggering a glitch in a basic human survival instinct, that's not ordinarily bad in small groups because there's more give, but with huge numbers of people talking to each other quickly becomes bad.
>>
>>35976806
Not that anon but I know what he's talking about. It's like imagine no internet and around you is darkness and wilderness and even though there's people nearby, you don't know any and if you can even get help in time you need. The place is creaky and you have no idea if that noise was the house or something else. It's a cool feel because it makes you feel a little more detached from real life. There's still some places like it, like York in south carolina
>>
>>35980650
That's not true, all that list you posted is not true, placing /pol/ at the same level of the SJW is not like putting two people of opposite spectres, the SJW are people that scream for non-issues and are the minions of the scum of the earth that want to concentrate the power for themselves.
/pol/ users are minions of themselves that want to remove the perversion of those individuals from the community, and bring it back to the normal standard it has always been before everyone lost their mind.

>more protections for women, especially sexually
SJW literally claim to protect women while they destroy them, unconsciously; they are the bizarro, they bring women to extreme insatisfaction and misery, yet they claim they free them and protect them.
>more power for the state, as long as it's ours
More power to the state as long as its OURS of the people, not of some trillonaire from who knows where, the SJW don't recognize that, and as long as the narrative follows the one of acceptance and diversity, everything's fine, that doesn't happen on /pol/, they can't fool us saying national socialism while at the same time promoting chinese products.
>be tougher
This is an advice i'd give to every person
>seek status and virtue
Seek virtue, status is simply what falls upon you, but first seek virtue, the SJW don't know what virtue is, they need to enable each other and groupthink, if someone is cut out from the groupthink that someone will reshape himself to fit in, in 8/pol/ people trying to fit in is automatically pointed out and scolded.

Good can sometimes seem evil, but in no way evil can imitate good, for a watchful eye.

The difference between the SJW and 8/pol/ is that if logic comes into play the SJW has no ground to stand on.

2006 is when I graduated high school. That was the last year I really felt like my life was progressing. At the end of 2007 is when I got kicked out of college. I feel like my life is at a stand still.

THank fully I have gotten my shit mostly together. I am finally graduating this May with a degree. On top of that I have a job interview this weekend at one of the top companies in my field. So hopefully by June I am feeling like I am finally living my life.

Also you completely fail to understand that /pol/ isn't what it is because someone wanted to make it so. /pol/ is what it is because of all the proof found every time something bad happened and who was the responsible of those happenings.

What /pol/ is today is the result of 10+ years of study of happenings.
Modern commies by the way don't even understand the origin of communis, they don't accept the fact that the ((usual suspects)) made it into what it was and for what purpose.

This is not a war between Communism, capitalism etc... this is a war between the avarage person and the elite, which were able to recruit millions of avarage people trough propaganda, television and corruption across the globe.

This elte doesn't care of communis, capitalism or national socialism, this elite only cares to be in power and have its servants work for the bare minimum. They do not care for the people, they have no love for a land for they have none, Semites are wanderers; their only care is the continuation of their family bloodline and global control.
/pol/ fights that, commies think we're that, SJW don't even know that exists.

For what purpose would you like to create a nationalistic movement which sole purpose is destroy your whole establishment and replace it with one that does its job and can't be infiltrated or coopted?

How do you control a bunch of autists with too much free time, that watch and dig every single trace you leave behind while also placing obstacles in the next your next steps?

I see how they coopted and took control of the "alt-right" but that movement has already ended its lifespan, and what it left is a decentered idea, but how can you control an idea like pure national socialism? Not the one you see in the lying books that tell of shoas and other fairy tales, i'm speaking of the one that took control of its own bank, kicked the kike bank mobsters and made its own money. What happens to them if it happens again? They can't do a world war this time, the nukes will fall.

Well it killed a lot of Germans and the other multitude of men thrown into its death machine that was its army. They threw enough men into the grinder to destroy the machine.

If you refer to the jews, think again, the holocaust never happened, but it should have.
Hitler offered the jews the chanse to leave, those who didn't weren't exterminated, it would cost too much anyways, they were put at work camps, where they died after the allies cut the supply chain.
