If a war breaks out and you currently live in a 1st world that is not directly taking part in the conflict, nothing will change really, but if your country is a part of it...
You're still not going to get drafted: modern armies are career-operated, so unless you are already registered, you won't go to war: an untrained civilian is of no use on a battlefield when you have professional soldiers. However, your country is going to get bombed the fuck out, and you can't expect to live peacefully unless you are really far away from large cities or strategic sectors such as railways, airports and factories.
If you country will draft...Well, tough luck doughboy, because you'll most likely die an unknown death from a simple drone strike or artillery attack...

If my country went to war...it depends wether I'd sign or not. If we're attackers for a reason I do not deem legitimate, fuck no. i'll still help behind however, by paying for the war, as I am still not suicidal: I don't want my country to get annexed by some fucker from elsewhere.
But if we're on the defensive, I'd draft immediatly, even though I probably won't be of any use in actual combat, I can still help in communications, surveillance or maintenance.

As to know where the next conflict will go...Hard to tell, but the world is ready to ignite at any moment: China, Japan, India, Iran, Irak, Israel, Russia, Ukraine...There are a lot of possible starting points, and things only get worse as time goes on...

Plus the US placed heavy regulations and tried to devaluate the ruble to weaken Russia, which generated a lot of tensions between the two countries. It wouldn't surprise me if one day things would get pretty hot: after all, the situation is already similar to the cold war...

I can see another US invasion in the middle east on ISIS, considering it would take about a month. Besides, nobody likes them, even Al Qaeda thinks they're garbage so I doubt we'd get much opposition.
