The :^) smiley has a purpose though, it can stay. The other smileys just look
like you're afraid of coming off as harsh or genuine or something. They look,
like a mask. Or maybe it's more aptly described as sugarcoating. They just
give off this insincere, almost smug impression.

On whatsapp use the emojis to indicate self-awareness and sarcasm though.
Sending a joke like: "I bet your laundry smells real good though" can really
go wrong without a creepy clown emoji at the end of it.

Using all those typed emojis in sincere conversation is downright offputting
and impossible to take seriously though. If you genuinely find something
funny, don't fucking post the "x'D" emoji, please. Posting that means you
are mocking the poster with a sarcastic laugh.
