It's the perfect transportation for a robot

125s are fun to dick around on, but if you ever want to hit the highway or long-distance rides you'll be sorry. I'd get any of the 250-300 bikes as a first bike, they're not that much expensive and have great resale value.

Yeah, you're right. But sadly, in my country you have to hold a motorcycle license for at least 2 years until you can upgrade from 125ccm. Until then, 125ccm is the maximum.

I keep wanting a 70s carb bike with a cafe racer look. I keep hesitating on some bikes because of how old they are, and how finicky carbs may be. Parts availability and unforseen repairs making it cost more than a new bike.

Shit like a failed transmission or engine shortly after buying it makes me hesitate hard.

all step throughs are nearly the same, except for parts of the engine. you might find better access to parts (and cheaper) getting a tomos or puch.

>>
>>35868367
older carbed bikes are often better than newer ones since there's no throttle sensor or emissions/vacuums to fuck with. just get fuel flowing, float valves that dont get stuck, and youre golden. but overall, FI is better reliability.

the transmissions tend to be ok, old clutches might be questionable, but theres usually something wrong with the top, like a rotten head gasket, untuned valves, rusty gas tank or shitty petcock, or bad electrics.

Newb question.
When stopped and have the clutch pulled, on take off I keep cutting out the engine. Am I supposed to give it a bit of gas before slowly releasing the clutch?
>>
I bought a motorcycle last year.
Rode it four times.
Scared the SHIT out of me.

Sold it last week, broke even, spent all $600 on tequila.
>>
>>35869412
Yes, generally. Some bikes have enough power that you don't need to but pretty much any starter bike you want to ease in the gas while releasing the clutch, or you'll probably stall.
>>
>>35869452
While I release or rev before I release?
>>
>>35869470
Both.
You'll figure it out as you do it, but you should be giving gas at the same time as you release the clutch.

My problem with bikes is when you get into an accident, you don't just die. You either end up paralyzed or having your leg or arm cut off. So you gotta live life even worse than before.

I'm on my third now. All 3 are BMW enduros.

Pro-tip: buy a Sena so you can listen to music.

Since 2010 Ive done over 40000 miles.

For a while it was the only thing keeping me going.

Also, BMW are the best: you dont have to pretend being a hells angels or a wannabe gym rat. Both groups leave you alone.
>>
>>35865344
Don't ride a homosexual bike then, harley's/cruisers are for fat boomers, "sport" bikes are for middle aged cucks that can barely ride and think they're pro, scooters and tiny engine bikes are for women and faggots.

The ONLY solution is to register a dirt bike on road, get a 4-stroke trail bike or a 2-stroke non-powerband farm bike and just get it registered. You can put road slicks on them and turn it into a motard if you want, my bike either pisses people off, impresses some girls and men, and is ignored by most non-whites and old lady's. It's fun seeing unbearably annoying normies get triggered by a loud 2-stroke and black exhaust fumes in their face, while some virgin girls love the growl and guys who love engines give you an approving look and a nod.
>>
>>35869424
It's not for you then, it's scary at first (especially if you bought a bike with a massive engine like most retarded newbies do), but you usually get over it after a couple of rides, and you'd keep trying if you were interested.
