Someone recommend me some good science fiction books. I just read Roadside Picnic and The Forever War.
Should I read the Metro series and then find something new?

Sorry, my Internet is slow and I am disorganized. How about thicc slav qt?
House of Leaves if you want something schizo /x/tier. It's pretty long, but I've read it multiple times.
John Dies @ The End if you want something goofy /x/tier.
Reading through Snow Crash right now. Only about of 1/3 of the way through, but it's been enjoyable so far if you like cyberpunk stuff.

Those both sound very good. I'll look into them.
Is Roadside Picnic worth a read based on the fact that I enjoyed the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games?

I enjoyed the first Metro book as a teen.
If you haven't read Gene Wolfe yet your missing out. The Book of the New Sun is easily the best sci-fi series of all time.
Other than that I recommend Specimen Days bu Michael Cunningham and Starship Troopers (don't worry, it's satire)

The dune series is great, read all of them if you can in order

>Starship Troopers
>(don't worry, it's satire)
It's absolutely not satire. Paul Verhoeven's adaption, yes, but not the book.
...I liked it, you should give it a shot

Can't go wrong with Dune, my man.

It is. Heinlein gave his real political views in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and Stranger in a Strange Land. Starship Troopers is supposed to be dystopic.
> It [now] seems to me that every time we manage to establish one freedom, they take another one away. Maybe two. And that seems to me characteristic of a society as it gets older, and more crowded, and higher taxes, and more laws.[68]
>As for libertarian, I've been one all my life, a radical one. You might use the term "philosophical anarchist" or "autarchist" about me, but "libertarian" is easier to define and fits well enough.[69]
