Why should I care about contributing to society when it is corrupt

There is no point to anything. Just do whatever.

Well, if you don't like it you can go somewhere else. Join an african tribe somewhere or move to a fishing village in indonesia.

You can contribute to society by making music, or talking to people and helping them feel better when they're sad.

The point of society is to protect women and children, you owe to the society that provided you with safety to contribute. You could argue that it raised you poorly and it was shitty, but you're not dead or missing limbs at least. Also keep in mind that you probably wouldn't like being in any other society. Would you prefer shit hole latin america? what about anywhere in africa? does asia sound good? Probably not.
