Connect to Tor, without any VPN or anything, and your ISP can see that you're connected to Tor, but they can't see the contents of your traffic, or its final destination. Connect to Tor with a VPN, or with some kinds of bridges, and your ISP can't see that you're connected to Tor.

Your ISP is in a pretty powerful position but they aren't some magical all-seeing eye. Stop spreading FUD.

All your data passes through your ISP. Question is if they can read it or not, and if they know where it's going. Tor and VPNs both stop them dead on this. They see an encrypted tunnel to somewhere that is passing the traffic on to someplace else.

do you people even know what ssl is? if you connect to a site with ssl, all your isp can see is the IP you are connected to, everything else is encrypted. right now my isp can just see im connected to 4chan, but they can't see what i'm posting.
