There were Asian girls around where he lived too. I'm sure quite a lot of them felt attracted to him, or at least would have felt, if he had been more outgoing and got noticed. Also there's a lot of Western women these days who might consider an Asian guy, not to mention someone who is half Asian half Caucasian.
