Why haven't you moved out of your mom's basement and into a cozy cuckshed on wheels?
You could be pissing in bottles in exotic new locations on a daily basis, and earn enough shekels to buy vidya and figs year round. Impressing the DOT with your dakimakura and piss bottle collection will be the crowning achievement of your week. Get enough good boy points with your dispatcher, and you can get time off at all the biggest cons you wanted to go to, but couldn't afford as a NEET.
So, why haven't you earned your CDL to enjoy the comfy cuck-per-mile lifestyle?

I was a long haul trucker for 3 and a half years. It was good for the first 1, but after that it was the same shit over and over.
Pissing in bottles and throwing them out the winder was fun though.
>Highest diabetuus job
>Most old truckers are deaf
>Never heard of or seen a happy trucker
>>35801095
He certainly seems to enjoy it
>>35801095
I want to live in a van so bad just so I'm not in my rural hell anymore
>>35801425
>>35801134
Come to the comfy side.
Because trucking jobs will get automated away in 5 years time.
>>35801095
but where do you shit?
>>35801095
>he fell for the travel meme
yay, now i can be a miserable nigger in all the locations imaginable!
>>35801095
Because I'm too much of a social autist who lacks social skills to do it.
Also I can't park a trailer at fucking all.
>>35802048
That's what they've been saying for 20 years. The only thing on the table right now is level 3 automation, and that still requires a warm body in the seat.
>>35802119
Wherever the road takes you.
>>35801139
Most old truckers are deaf because old trucks were loud. Newer trucks are so quiet you can't even hear traffic around you without rolling the windows down.
>>35803352
Instead you're just a miserable nigger sitting in the olace every day.
>>35803714
Half the drivers on the road don't even speak English anymore. All the social requirements can be met by pointing and grunting. Everyone is shit at backing a trailer at first.
Too scared to drive such a big thing otherwise I would.
>>35801095
>ywn be a cucker trucker who drives around the world and blogs his ecperiences (yes, even the piss bottles)
>>35803860
M8 Teslas already drive themselves. The tech us already here. It's just a matter of time now, and you can bet your ass (truck) that transportation companies are salivating at the idea of implementing it. Who doesn't love not having to pay drivers while simultaneously enjoying a vastly reduced accident rate.
>>35801095
The first driverless trucks are already on the road and this is a horrible wage slave job.
>>35803893
You'll be fine. After about a year it's just like driving a car, but with better visibility, so really, it's safer.
>>35803986
Teslas follow lines and slam into trucks. There are lots of places trucks go without lines, and a truck can't load, unload, secure the load, procure the bills, fuel the truck, and maintain load securement on its own. There's more to the job than driving in a straight line.
>>35804028
Nah,I'm too big of a scaredy cat so I'll be good senpai
>>35803986
I hate talking to young people, because they're so painfully unaware of their lack of life experience.
Truckers don't just drive a vehicle straight to a location. There's a lot of complicated movement and positioning involved that goes far beyond the (extremely) simple Tesla experiments that are taking place now. Furthermore, truckers often have to help with loading/unloading, which a computer is obviously not going to do. A large number of businesses that regularly order freight goods like machinery and food products are rural-based, such as wineries, ranches, and farms, and a computer is not going to be any good out in the country for a long, long time. Driverless cars will be useful at best within heavily mapped cities, not disparate country lanes where fucking google maps can't properly figure out just where the hell you are.
Next time you start thinking about "oh wow the future is already here", understand that you're too young and inexperienced to know what the hell you're talking about. Your naivety is, frankly, embarrassing.
I really really want to live the trucker life with a qt bf. We would live in the truck and take turns driving doing deliveries from place to place, listening to funny podcasts, then snuggle up on the little bed in the back together at the end of the day. If only this life were possible. Maybe I've just played too much Euro Truck Sim.
>>35804410
It's very possible. Couples team drive every day. Don't let your dreams be dreams. You're gay, right?
Damn it TF stop shilling truck driving, rates are low enough as it is without adding more meat to the Werner grinder
>>35804901Yeah.
I get the impression truckers are all super macho stronk types. Is there any place for a skinny faggot like me?
I assume you live in the US? How long does it take to get your heavy license or CDL or whatever there?
>>35801095
I've always dreamt of becoming a truck driver, but now it looks like I'm going to go for a PhD in mathematics.
>>35805872
Not that guy but I used to know a trucker manlet guy who was pretty skinny. He did always carry 2 guns though.
Oh, and be my bf
>>35805930
>He did always carry 2 guns though.
Sigh it all sounds like such a great wild west adventure.
And sure anon, but we should start off as friends first.D-drop your steam if you want.
>>35806439
He seemed to like it but you're away from home a lot. Though if you have qt bf with you it's probably not that bad.
I'm not near my computer post discord pls. I also can never get spoilers to work on mobile.
>>35806783
I guess it would be tough but I like driving, it's almost therapeutic to me.
Nii-San#2039
Lemme know if it works
>>35805821
NEETs and weebs are the future of trucking.
>>35805872
No, not at all. It's about 10% macho pricks, 40% average joes, 30% hardcore conservatives, 10% gays, and 10% raging homosexuals. There's always an offer of free bjs on the CB.
Takes 4-8 weeks to get a CDL, then 2-6 months of training once you're hired.
>>35805886
You could always do both.
>>35806967
I also find driving very relaxing.
>>35807247
>There's always an offer of free bjs on the CB.
Kek
Do you get to use the same truck every time? Can you take it home or do you have to leave it at the depot? How many gears does it have?tfw seriously considering being a trucker
>>35808200
>Do you get to use the same truck every time?
Depends on the company, but slip seating is kind of rare when it comes to sleepers.
>Can you take it home or do you have to leave it at the depot?
Again, depends on the company.
>How many gears does it have?
Mine has 10, but I prefer a 13 speed.
>>35808969
Hey TF, nice to see some cross posting from /o/.
Lurked the trucking general now for quite some time because I was interested in doing it but I keep having hang ups.
I can't decide on a company to bend me over and fill my holes starting out. Prime is my top candidate, but I really don't want to deal with the reefer delivery times as I've heard those are murder. Swift is the second or third to last place I'd trust, Knight and PAM being the bottom of the barrel from what I've read. The division I'm really looking into is flatbed but I'm scrawny. I used to be athletic but I found 4chan and video games after high school and so that went down the drain quickly. I've got a basic idea of where I want to be in three years but I just can't get over the initial hurdle. Any suggestions?
I'm also scared to death that I will become a living embodiment of bachelor frog and I'll wake up 400 lbs and and a company kekkle at the age of 40 (22 now) being paid .37 cpm and with an employment history that would span twenty pages.
Also, nice Cascadia. Series 60 or ISX in that hunk?
>tfw 26 and wasn't panda material
>I'm in trucking school
>tfw too dumb for the written tests
>keep failing the air breaks exam because i can't remember numbers
>It's another "Gay Truckers hook up" thread
Getting real tired of this place
>>35801095
Hey OP why dont you tell some of the lies about how much you make a year?
I sure everyone wants to hear how you make 150k a year after taxes.
>>35810618
OP here i make 150K/year after taxes
>>35810540
>Gay Truckers hook up
this better be a fucking meme
Dude i would absolutely LOVE to know how to drive a Mack.
