when you hold the door open for a stranger in public and they say " thank you ", what is the correct reply? i usually dont say anything, but i think that might be wrong.
also feel free to ask dumb shit itt or help fellow autists ( neurotypicals may post as well )

I say "yup." I'm acknowledging their thanks while reminding them that I'm better than them.

"no worries mate" is the correct reply. Even if they're not your mate.

"No problem"
"sure"
"you're welcome"
*nod*
i usually say cheers

I usually toss out a head nod or a 'welcome' or 'no probl'
Usually don't say anything because i'm trying to formulate a correct response and by the time I figure it out the window has passed and i'm left to contemplate my failure for the rest of the day.

In most situations, the proper response to "Thank you" is "You're welcome"
I just nod to people my age because autism or say "yessir" or "yes ma'am" to the elders.
