the sequel is way better about giving you choices between good and evil but I think it's the worse game because that was never the goal of KOTOR in the first place

Thank you, you are the only person I have seen that shares my views. I'd argue that Kotor 2 was better because it was much more philosophical and challenges you on a moral level. It even revealed a ton about the nature of the Force. It's the reason why I still love Star Wars.
However, Kotor one was special in itself. It brought to life the Star Wars universe in a way different from the movies or other video games. It also had a hero's journey type feel to it.
