I'm not close to my parents but I make sure to call them at least once a year and just tell them I love them. You should too. Also, if you're on good terms with her, having a kid will make her happy. At least she can die now knowing you weren't a complete failure and were able to do something as basic as reproducing.

My stepmom and stepdad died in a mutual suicide so I'm used to loss already. My mom is going deaf and my dad has aids so my orhpans days are coming soon. Too bad I'm a agoraphobic english major with no future in sight so I'll probably be homeless for a while before I succumb to depression and kill myself. When I was younger I planned to live with mom until I die early because the numerous helath issues I have BUT guess what she got cancer.

She's still kicking, and she still has a ways to go. I still have a couple grandparents left, and my parents are fairly healthy, so it might not happen until I'm in my 40's or so.

This strikes deep. She is the only reason for me to keep living and to stay sane. If not for her being here for me, I'd commited suicide or something worse you know a long time ago.
