I'm attempting to write a 5 page paper I procrastinated

I'm going to give you actual helpful advice that will benefit you in the future OP

OP, you need to learn your priorities in life. You need to apply yourself and work on finishing things early.

For instance, I worked extremely far ahead in one of my courses. I've basically done all the work up until the end of the semester. That class now has no influence on my life and I can focus on other things.

if you know what you're writing about you can do much better than a page per hour. that being said, i'm in a humanities program in graduate school so writing academic essays is pretty much my only life skill.

the trick to cranking out a paper really fast is to know essentially what you're gonna do ahead of time. usually before i write any kind of paper i'll think:

>what am i gonna write about
>what's my argument (i.e. what will i prove through writing this paper)
>what evidence can/will i use to support this argument

then i sorta turn over that in my head for a while. like, how would that evidence be best arranged in order to logically support my thesis?

if i were gonna make this as a post on 4chan, how would i need to write it such that a dedicated shitposter whose sole aim is to prove me wrong would have no argumentative ground to stand on?

so once i've worked through the problem/solution in my head, i've just gotta sit down and write the thing. again, as long as you've already done the mental legwork of figuring out what you're gonna say and how you're gonna justify it, the only thing that's left for you to do is sit down and record thoughts you have already had. how hard can that be?

1 page per hour would suggest that i was struggling immensely with some aspect of the paper.
