The double chin might be because the position of your head is different in the pictures somehow, but your brain makes it so imperfect angles don't occur to you in the mirror.
If I see a flipped image of myself I see my eyebrows, lips, eyes and nose as retarded and weirdly angled while in the mirror they all look fine.

We look worse to ourselves on camera than we do in the mirror. I'm not sure which one is truer to reality. Also I think modern phone cameras are made for fat people to make them look thinner so it might look weird on some people.
