dude head up to Alaska. Construction work up there pays like 3 times what it does elsewhere, and the sun stays up forever during the summer so you can rack up a ton of overtime on top of the already inflated wage. I work for a groundwork contractor. The ground is only soft enough to work in for about 4 months during the summer, so I go up there for and work my ass off 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week. Just when the schedule is really starting to wear me down mentally and physically, the work season ends. I make about 45-50k in 4 months and spend the remaining 8 months NEETing in Colorado smoking legal weed and playing vidya/shitposting for 16 hours a day. When that starts to get old, it's time to go back up to Alaska for the next work season.

It's the perfect gig for a NEET at heart who isn't afraid of intense work every now and then. I'm about to head up there in 2 months for my 5th season. The boss is even starting to trust me to run some heavy machinery now.

To digress and address it. I dont even buy into the idea that we need a growing population. Imo, if i can larp politic, since were entering a fully post industrial society we ill have a shrinking population and eventually we will have a much much smaller population than we do now because we wont need the people any more.
