I really hope this is just the muscle making me look this big. The weight I'm lifting is steadily going up, but I'm losing weight. I don't know what's going on.

You can go bear mode instead.

Just do what you want until you are satisfied with your strength, and then enter a moderate caloric deficit to cut the fat. The more muscular you are, the easier it is to cut.

just keep going, don't even think or worry about visible results until you're about 6 months in and its an established part of your life
remember to avoid sugar since it creates hormones storing fat and salts since they store water making u look bloated
but drink alot of pure water
it is the muscle making you look big. muscle weighs more than fat. you've lost a lot of fat, but also gained a lot of muscle. jesus christ this is fucking middle school-tier gym class knowledge.

Don't expect muscles after 2 months.
If you loose fat your body can be a bit saggy before it adjusts, which can mske you look a bit fat. Don't give up!
I'm in a similar situation as OP but on the opposite end of the spectrum. I am just over 6 ft tall and started lifting about 6 months ago at 143 lbs. I'm now 157 lbs, and I still look like absolute shit, one of the smallest guys in my gym. I've made okay progress on lifts, but I swear it kills me a little inside whenever I look in the gym mirror and see just how shitty I still look, it both fuels and erodes my motivation. It's an odd feel.
Try changing your diet and do homework on what macros you should be adjusting. Try doing the low carb diet and focus on cardio and lower intake in calories. You'll get there dude.
