learning a new language is just about the most effort possible for a very minor boost to your cv

I had to take an IQ test for a job recently. Don't know how well I did but they made a nice offer.

Companies mostly care about experience. By that I mean that HR managers skim your CV and LinkedIn for whatever words the real managers asked them to find.

As anyone with high intellect would probably agree, exercising your mind by learning a new language not only broadens your horizons and increases your opportunities, but it allows you to keep your mind sharp and shows others that you are capable of making and sticking to a long-term commitment.

There's a reason that many of the world's leading minds can speak multiple languages, even those in 'Anglo countries' as you put it.
