Cataclysm was worse, Warlords of Draenor was THE worst.

Wrath was mixed, Mists of Pandaria was pretty solid, Legion is okay-tier. Burning Crusade and Vanilla were the best for many reasons that aren't just gameplay, but general atmosphere, progression, and socialization.

Collecting resources on alts in the garrison felt like chores that I had to do
Crafting was not even slightly fun

there was nothing left for me.

I felt like the narrative became far too expository and that the overall experience was on rails, less of a world and more of a WoW themed waterpark. The progression was trash, really just a 10 meter sprint to get to max level and no real sense of adventure. No one starting will ever know the joy of forging friendships in their travels across azeroth, nor will they know the joy of exploring dungeons with those people or how awesome it felt to get a blue item. They just blast through dungeons like nothing and obtain very little of actual value because of LOLFULLHEIRLOOMS - it's not an experience anymore.

Garrisons only served to further isolate an already isolated community with what literally amounted to a fucking facebook game. It just became a very, very small world.
