They're supposed to fall out on their own five to seven days afterwards. If you removed them at three days, you should be fine, the most important part of the healing should be accomplished. If you removed them immediately, you'll still probably be fine. The chance of the clot falling out is higher, which would make it heal closed slower, which increases the chance of the wound becoming infected.
